Servus and a warm welcome to Vienna, where some Flyertalkers have decided to stage the VIE Waltz-Do, from Friday September 17th to Sunday September 19th, 2010.
Our program for all three exciting days is starting on Friday with a great Schnitzel buffet, continuing to a great Sightseeing tour on Saturday and ending with a "Brunch in the sky" on Sunday. How to reach Vienna ?
By plane Vienna lies at the heart of Europe. Vienna-Schwechat Airport is located outside the city limits and offers ideal connections to the rest of the world. We all know the quickest way to travel is by air! With Austrian Airlines , you can fly non-stop to the Austrian capital several times a day. Other airlines: British Airways Easyjet Aer Lingus Lufthansa KLM Air France United Airlines From Vienna-Schwechat Airport to the city center Take the City Airport Train CAT to the city center in 16 minutes. The express train line S7/S8 and airport express buses will take you into the city and to Vienna's main train stations. Ryanair lands at Bratislava Airport, which is only 65 km from Vienna. Trains and buses run regularly between the cities of Vienna and Bratislava, which are connected by the Twin Cityliner on the Danube during the warmer months. Dates are marked, but it's way too early to confirm. Usually I have some set meetings at this time, but a weekend in VIE should be possible and doable given the frequent flights to VIE from Germany airports.

Oooh..... I love Vienna! This sounds wonderful, and I have marked the dates. Naturally, it is still too far out to make any firm commitments, but I'm definitely interested.

This far out, I cannot commit to anything more than "Maybe", but it's on my radar and I would love to attend.
