I've been slow to recover from the trip, but I just posted my openskies photos. This is not, as they say, a photo gallery--everyone else has covered the ground better, but I don't want to cheat anybody out of my poorly-lit masterpieces.

I'll post to this thread again when I finally put a report together. It was a pleasure to meet all of you.

How was the inaugural flight over?

Welcome to FlyerTalk, tsue!

The post-flight reports start after post #337 in this thread. Several blog posts, trip reports and photo albums are linked in later posts. Enjoy!

BTW- great reports and photos everyone!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, tsue!:)^

FWIW I wrote a trip report, which you can find here.:) If you look in the rest of the thread you'll find many other links as well, as mentioned above.

Very nice!^ I guess my report was a bit too critical.:D

I love looking at all the photos and I'm glad you included yours! I had little time this week for trip reporting, but plan on writing my own this weekend.

Here is some bad news for those who stayed at the Hilton Paris, otherwise now known as the infamous “Hilton Four”.

It appears as though we stayed at this property just in time...

Pat89339 Jun 29, 2008 10:18 pm

Ouch. A real loss to Hilton. Thanks for the post on this. We had a great time at that lounge!

heffa Jun 29, 2008 10:28 pm

Oh no... Does that makes us Hilton 4 even more special?

A question to the Hilton 4. I used 40k points like you to get into Paris Hilton :) I just checked my HHonors balance and saw that I got 2,768 base points for the stay (as well as the usual 50% bonus and the VIP bonus). Did you get that too?

Maybe even infamous or notorious!

I was told the way they set mine up that points would post, but they would reverse them later. I got 10,275 base (as well as the other usual bonuses). I guess that means they had to cough up a bit more than $1,000 for my room at the hotel. Wow!

Wooow... Your 10,275 was for two nights, but that still comes out of more than twice than for my room. I think you got the nicest room of us all. At least the best view. :D Lets hope that we'll keep all our points :p

I just checked my Hilton HHonors account and I received the same thing, plus 692 additional Hilton HHonors points.

I also used 40,000 Hilton HHonors points to stay one night at the Hilton Paris property.

I was not told that, but I am certain the same will apply to me as well.

Pat89339 Jun 30, 2008 12:34 pm

Just to clarify, my stay was set up through Diamond Special Services since the single room was not available on Saturday Night for points. I convinced the Diamond Desk to make it available for me. :D They had to contact the hotel and negotiate a rate for the second night which was billed directly to them. So my stay appeared as a pay stay rather than a point stay, but the billing address was to the Diamond Desk in Arizona. Also, the efolio is not available on hilton.com.

I don't think the points ever will reverse. I think we scored double happiness from our stay in Paris :p Also, I have yet to become an eFolio from an European stay. However, it's a pity that the Paris Hilton will leave Hilton...

Here's an article from the July 1 NY Times on premium economy sections, featuring OpenSkies' Prem+.

Excellent find Calcifer. :D

iluv2fly Jun 30, 2008 7:12 pm

I have been doing some counting here and it looks like some of the people who were posting about going to and planning activities around the DO have not posted about their time on the Do. What's the story? Enquiring minds want to know!!! @:-)

Pat89339 Jun 30, 2008 7:19 pm

I'm still working on my report, squeezing it in between things on which I have deadlines pending. :D

Canarsie Jul 1, 2008 6:44 pm

757 to Europe - a joke

I had to laugh.

Would anyone like to comment in that thread?

One of my photographs has been selected and now appears in the official weblog for OpenSkies under the July 7th entry.

OS20 if you have a moment, they would like comments on the blog about some of the OpenSkies inflight experiences that made an impression on us--and we know how impressionable we are. :D
