Pat, awesome pics. Love the pic of Miss Norfolk (well, at least that's what I named her, as she's from Norfolk, VA - IIRC) carrying all the drinks. I ran into her at the Delta JFK Terminal, trying desperately to get home. There were many Comair cancellations; causing all types of problems. I would love permission to use that photo. ;) When I spoke to her at JFK-DL I mentioned I hoped that she didn't mind us too much, she said "of course not, they really enjoyed the FlyerTalk Passengers."

heffa Jun 24, 2008 5:32 pm

I'm very jelleous of you getting very tasty macaroons from Ladurée on arrival. Much, much better than that box of that Biz breakfast I got before landing at Orly.

BTW, don't I look a bit like Quasimodo on that bike rental picture? And also, those rental instructions was much easier to understand once I was in command of the rental computer. Ha!

lili Jun 24, 2008 5:56 pm

Ladurée macaroons and pastries on a plane? Sigh. Thanks for the picture, Pat with the numbers

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time and that once again Randy did the perfect, elegant thing. What a classy way to celebrate 10 years of FlyerTalk. Hope you guys were nice to him and didn't whine for some sort of post-count compensation since the flight didn't have onboard internet. Or did it?

And this is such a happy thread -- just the way FT should be. And Princess ^^

Now I'm off to the AA forum and their hot nuts and ice cream sundaes are looking lame. Well, not as lame as the Qantas fudgesicle.

That's because you were. :D

We also had the longer ride of 8 hours in BIZ.

Not at all. Besides we were in the wrong arrondissement for that. :D

Whine? We were down on our knees thanking Randy for the opportunity he gave to us. And sadly no internet on board or we would have been able to post live. The only thing that would have made it better was if our hotels were closer together in Paris. There were some people in the group I didn't meet until our return flight.

Canarsie Jun 24, 2008 6:23 pm

I guess I need to get my pictures in order and post a link to them.

I have greater than 300 pictures. Ouch.

Pat89339 Jun 24, 2008 6:34 pm

Absolutely! I'm looking forward to seeing those and lucky's and baccarat_king's. Come on guys, start uploading!

lucky9876coins Jun 24, 2008 7:34 pm

Part one of my trip report is done. You can find it here. As I promised, I'm not going to bed till the whole report is done, so expect part two in the wee horus of the night and part three sometime tomorrow morning.:)

You are welcome to it.

Great photos FTers!

From the pictures on the plane, to the candid shots around gay Paris... They're the next best thing to being there!

Thanks for sharing.

Part two of my trip report is up.:)

tom911 Jun 25, 2008 1:47 am

AA to JFK? How did that come about?

Canarsie Jun 25, 2008 1:52 am

Here are my photographs.

I have not applied captions to them as of yet.

Enjoy!

JustTalking Jun 25, 2008 2:21 am

Nice photos..:p

Pat89339 Jun 25, 2008 2:28 am

Canarsie, what outstanding photographs! I've gone through the full slideshow twice and am heading back for more. It was like being there all over again.

I'm trying -- I'll work on it later. Unfortunately, I have a 7AM flight to LAS (via SLC) tomorrow for my Birthday trip; and have hardly approached getting even a portion of my work done this week...

Though, it could be that the week started out with my wife getting a flat tiring on the Infiniti QX4 -- parking the SUV quickly in the corner of the driveway -- throwing me the keys and telling me to take care of it...

While, she proceeded to jump into the Escalade (I kid you not) and back out of the garage directly into the Infiniti; only to return moments later to the house, hand me a bunch of plastic --- and tell me that I had a bit more to take care of that morning.

So.... I'm off to the 5:15AM Exteme Boot Camp --- and shall try to get everything (picture wise) completed before this evening.

Cheers!

--- Michael

had to share, since I hadn't seen my bootcamp instructor (ex-Air Force) since last week (and haven't had a moment to shave); he did say to me "Michael --- I really need you to shave before the next bootcamp. :p:p"

But, the best comment of the class, which I know lucky will appreciate is when we were doing planks (@ the end of class) and he said to someone :

"This is NOT a plank." I starting laughing like crazy, and I'm certain the entire group now thinks I am insane.....

Great photos--especially loved the ones of the Eiffel Tower at dusk (ie, around 10:30pm...). But where's the French Randy Petersen? :p

Canarsie Jun 25, 2008 7:26 am

I added some captions to my photographs.

Please feel free to comment on them.

Also, I forgot which FlyerTalk name goes to the correct person in the photographs. If someone could assist me with this, I would appreciate it.

You will need to speak to heffa about the topless French Randy Petersen frolicking about the park, as he is the one who took those graphic pictures.

rubbernyc Jun 25, 2008 7:47 am

Canarsie,

What a great set of photos, thanks for that. It really was like being there all over again.

I feel embarrassed that I only took a few pictures. I feel like an FT novice... I only have 1 picture of the plane cabin!!

Like Pat ( with all the numbers ) said, I've gone through them a couple of times and it brings me back there.

Thanks again.

The Eiffel Tower at dusk really was something! :D :p

I'll upload my batch of the French Randy Petersen later -- both the regular photos of him and the topless ones. I cannot believe that we actually found him hiding in that great hidden park.

Hehe, believe it or not a week out it was the best option, and I hate getting on a plane without earning proper miles, so it worked out well in the end.

*Almost* done. Didn't say what timezone it would be morning in.:p

lucky9876coins Jun 25, 2008 10:49 am

I just realized I left some important pics out of installment two, so I went ahead and added those first. Hoping to have part three done in the next hour or so.

Canarsie Jun 25, 2008 10:56 am

This is not a thread.

This is a recollection of the indelible memories we are recalling from our OpenSkies weekend in Paris.

LMFAO heffa, please don't tell me that one guy is supposed to look like Randy!:D

GREAT pictures!^

OHHHH, is this the chief pilot of OpenSkies? Finally we get to see her, and curse whoever asked the Captain of our flight about the chief pilot (you know what I'm talking about:eek:).

You should have seen him live. All the Hilton 4 would agree!!! [or maybe we had too much wine and sunshine that day?]

cheepneezy Jun 25, 2008 3:35 pm

Keeping with the theme, these are not great reports and pictures.:D

Sounds like a super time for all of you.

And I just have to ask question #5: Lucky, is there anything else you can share with us today?:D:cool:

Calcifer Jun 28, 2008 8:52 am

This Sunday's NY Times has an article on the Hidden Gardens of Paris, including the Jardin Catherine-Labouré, location of the scandalous topless French Randy Petersen sighting. ;)

Canarsie Jun 28, 2008 8:55 am

A photograph taken by me was posted with my permission at the official weblog for OpenSkies under the June 27th entry.
