Hi all - it's a maybe for me too! Sorry I can't be more definite, but I'll let you know for sure as it gets closer and plans are confirmed, etc..... Thanks.

just a friendly bump and any thoughts on italian in north beach?

I'll definitely be flying that weekend (as of now), but the question for me is whether or not this dinner fits in. Any clue what time dinner is going to be? Any chance I could still catch a redeye, or is that unrealistic? I might just overnight at SFO and take a morning flight.

don't know about a firm time but i would say 6pm and that could make a redeye do-able but if it's not, i have a pull out couch (sorry no mileage or point earning tho ;))

another shameless bump :)

I'm inclined to say maybe, but there's a chance I'll fly to the East Coast that weekend, otherwise I'd say probably...

As far as location - is North Beach really necessary? Makes it harder to get to, harder to park and harder for those wanting to take a red-eye after to get to the airport! :) (and living in SoMa of course I think that's a better 'hood to dine in anyway!).

Anything not too far from BART is fine for us, though I tend to agree with you - there's definitely better food in San Francisco than North Beach.

i'm open to suggestions and the reason i threw out north beach is that it's in a "touristy area" for our aussie visitor. :)

Maybe something along the Embarcadero? But not as far up as Fisherman's Wharf - too touristy.

i agree about fw (with the exception of pompeii's grotto) and besides, i'm gonna play tour guide for our visitor over the w/e so that part will be covered :).

A maybe here also. (Mega-DO's have their own appeal, but it's also nice to attend a smaller DO where you actually get to meet everybody in attendance....)

mahasamatman Jun 23, 2008 10:08 pm

So what cuisine(s) does the mystery guest like?
