We jumped the gun a bit, and I apologize for that. I was doing research about hotel prices and noticed that the IC and Hilton were already sold out and a lot of the other hotels were in the $400+ range for that weekend. A little research showed that there was a convention of the American College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting, which includes 11,000 people. As much as I hate to change dates, I don't think that'll work well for most of us, and it just doesn't make sense to try and organize a Mega Do under those conditions.

Fortunately it looks like the Do calendar is empty for the weekend of September 26-28, and the hotel prices are very reasonable too (IC is $170, for example, can you say minibar party;))!

I hope this doesn't inconvenience too many people, but I think it only makes sense. Since it's so far out I'll leave everyone on the list as is since I assume people didn't already plan a trip for that weekend to SF, but if you need to be taken off please let me know. Sorry again!

Hmmm. Is either this DO or the NYC Gayla. I will see which one is more affordable, but I'm guessing will be SFO since NYC hotels are always too expensive.

This policy of "must have 10 people [or whatever] before a DO is posted in a master thread is crap". Or at least, we need to get some sort of exemption for regular/yearly scheduled events. We organizers shouldn't have to search 5 forums and 50 threads to schedule something.

We all know I'm a total alcoholic and can't remember past yesterday, so naturally if I was smart enough to use a calendar, I wouldn't have infringed on FBG's plans. :(
