Thanks much to gvdIAD for setting up a dinner on an evening when we were in town. It was a good place that he selected and, as usual, a very interesting group of FTers showing up for a DC event.

Franny was envious of my description of the Margaritas when I got back and again sends her regards to those whom she missed meeting with that evening.

I don't suppose anything's up in DC this weekend? I'm coming in on Thursday afternoon and was hoping I'd find a happy hour already in the works...

Nothing's currently scheduled, but please feel free to propose something. Once you've got a definite time and venue, and a couple of people are able to confirm attendance, I'll post it on the first page of the thread as a confirmed event.

I am probably (long story) going to be in town this weekend and would be available for an HH Friday or Saturday, preferably something in the city or otherwise metro accessible.

As suggested by several of our regulars, I've booked a table for 8 people at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 19, to take advantage of the "Appetite Stimulus Plan," which is offering 3 course dinners for $35.

Choices for a party this large were somewhat limited, but I was able to score a Table at Tuscana West, at 1350 I St., NW, near McPherson Square.

If there are more than 8 people interested, perhaps we can do what we did at Zatinya, and book a second table under a different name.

So far, attendees are:

1. gvdIAD
2. pranu
3. GoingAway
4. chtiet
5. Nicholas
6. chrisw
7. waterstrider
8. lawchild

Too much work to do:

1. mot29

I hope we are able to fill out the table.

pranu Nov 16, 2008 1:49 pm

Sweet! I am in!!!

Nicholas Nov 16, 2008 7:27 pm

I'm in, too.

chrisw Nov 16, 2008 7:48 pm

Waterstrider and I are IN!

GoingAway Nov 16, 2008 8:19 pm

Greg - I see an opportunity for some lobbying on your part at this dinner ;)

mot29 Nov 17, 2008 6:13 am

May I become #8, please.

Done.

I'll establish a waitlist for any others who might be interested in case one or more of our confirmed attendees has to bow out.

I've got a bit of a work issue that is going to keep me in the office late. So, my space is open -- I'll pm to lawchild to let him know. Sorry to miss you all.

Your upgrade has cleared. Please advise which upgrade instrument you'll be using to support the upgrade (just kidding, but do post whether you'll be able to make it tonight).

Well that sucks that I missed it (still unpacking), just subscribed to the thread so I can skip out of work early for the next one. Holiday HH?
