I was simply trying to make things more convenient for everybody, but perhaps that is a better idea.

Looks like I should be getting in around 4-5 and will go to the hotel to change out of my work clothes. If anybody is down early we can hit the exec lounge.

I'll be running later then I thought.....had a little accident so I'll be there more like 8:30 or 9.

It was nice of the restaurant to allow us to stay overnight to wait for aucarol until she arrives to join us.

However, scoow instead literally jumped at the opportunity to take Spiff to his hotel.

In a bizarre last-minute turn of events, zsmith decided to join them, albeit apprehensively.

I did not stick around to find out what happened...

Down the road scoow kicked me to the curb and said I was ASA trash and wanted nothing to do with me. Meanwhile, Spiff was trying to find directions, on his blackberry, to the nearest motel that had coin operated vibrating beds. I heard him mubble something about a cabanna???

I found out what happened in downtown Marietta on my way to the airport last night:

There was also a bad vehicle accident with many emergency vehicles in Marietta on my way home, where I witnessed someone being tended to on a stretcher.

LIES, LIES, LIES! I am compelled to correct these unfounded fabrications or readers may draw untrue assumptions.

When aucarol did not show up to pay the tab, the restaurant first locked us in and then kicked us out the back door.

I did not 'jump' at the opportunity to take Spiff to his hotel. After bouncing all afternoon I had a mere hop left in me, at most.

While zsmith did join us at the last minute, it was not so very bizarre. Door to door on foot or in a car? After dragging his feet for a bit, he accepted the offer and asked me to step on it.

At the hotel, I couldn't get anywhere near the curb. What were all those cars doing at a hotel at that hour???

I LOVE all ASA employees... they are WONDERFUL people and provide FANTASTIC service. (Did I mention that I'm flying ASA in the morning? :rolleyes: )

I got the directions to Spiff's hotel from Canarsie. Why? I'm sure it had something to do with finding a '3' on a blackberry, but I have no idea....

Finally, I've never seen, much less stayed in, a hotel room with a coin operated vibrating bed. zsmith, if this is the kind of place you frequent, you might want to consider upgrading the accomodations! I suggest looking into a cabanna. Just be careful if someone volunteers to be your cabanna boy.


It was an truly enjoyable evening, and I am glad I was able to meet all of you!

After eating four delicious hamburgers earlier that day, I never did get to eat again that night because I was so full...

...and I never did get that shake or malted for which I craved that night.

Well, it's just as well we didn't go looking for the place I remembered. Seems the location near the airport is no longer there.

If not, the posts re. aucarol were sort of a waste, now weren't they???

Actually, I'm not so concerned about the FT'ers who read this thread. It's the archeologists who dig it up in hundreds of years that I worry about!

Cabannas, coin operated vibrating beds, waiting all night in the joint---sounds like I missed a good time!! I hate I couldn't make it!! Hey, zsmith---nobody threw food at you this time, did they??:D

Canarsie, sometime when you get a chance, PM me and tell me about where you live in Marietta........I used to live off Sandy Plains Rd, and sure do miss the place......still have family in the area though. Last time I was there (most of the family lives in Roswell, Lawrenceville now) the place had changed drastically!
