Is there statistics on the distribution of posts by members?
Like, how many members with posts as logarithm >1,10,100,1000,10000,100000 or something?

JDiver Dec 30, 2015 9:45 am

I thought I'd make my 50,000th post in this thread. Took me from May, 2000 to hit 50,000; from July 4 2006 to go from "Evangelist" to 50,000.

In that time, I've made good friends (and sadly lost a few), have attempted to serve my community as a moderator (which I also did on GEnie and CompuServe), consolidated most of my flying to one airline / alliance, vastly improved my travel comfort and knowledge (learning from some, sharing with others).

I've earned nearly 6 million miles on American Airlines- and enabled others' travel including upper class travel for friends and family on honeymoon, anniversary and special occasion trips, etc. and a few going to volunteer (e.g. Kiva in Cambodia, barrio construction assistance in Perú, etc.)

I've earned more than that in points with Hilton HHonors, which again has allowed me to make gifts to friends and family for special occasions (as well as saving me thousands of dollars).

Thank you, Flyertalk and fellow members. And wishes everyone's 2026 will be joyous, healthy, rewarding - and full of safe, trouble free travels with plentiful upgrades.

We are blessed to have you on FlyerTalk, jdiver. You enrich us with your knowledge and community service. I hope you are here for many years to come. Have wonderful travels wherever they take you in 2016.

I could not resist the opportunity to wish you eleven more years of safe, trouble free travels with plentiful upgrades, JDiver. FlyerTalk just would not be the same without you — although I do wonder what it would be like in 2026.

Do not correct what you posted. Leave it as is, as it is classic JDiver content...

...and I count you as one of my friends, to whom I hope that the next eleven years are joyous, healthy, rewarding and successful for you and your loved ones.

Thank you; you are a good friend, and someone for whom I have consulate respect - and whose humor I value too, so I won't edit the slip of fingertips my iPad is so good at (in addition to sometimes truly astounding autocorrections). :)

Congratulations JDiver! We are honoured you decided to post your 50,000th post in CommunityBuzz.

I also consider Canarsie to be a good friend and, like you, I do not actually offer him my respect but instead allow him to apply for it through my consulate in Atlanta.

Congrats on joining the legendary elites of FT!

"so did on GEnie and CompuServe), "

I can not belive you are that old....and yet like me I see you give most of your miles away.

50k lot of water under the bridge.

We are talking 2016, not hoping, and wishing for 2026...

My iPad sometimes does amazing things. Let's see if it can keep me alive through 2026.

I wish you the best of luck, my right hand fingers hit the 9 and 0 with a mind of their own also.

Kiwi Flyer Dec 30, 2015 11:30 pm

Congrats JDiver.

The FT community is exceptionally fortunate to have your countless contributions. All the best for 2026, 2016 and all the years in between,

So GUWonder is not far from 80,000 posts - when do you think s/he will get 80k? And what title does 80k get?

There's no different title other than legend for posts beyond 40K.

Probably a good thing. I think there was a Talkboard topic at one time on potentially expanding the titles associated with post milestones .

N830MH Jun 22, 2016 12:32 am

Soon GUWonder will became 80,000 posts club sometime in a few weeks or so. We will see what happens.

tcook052 Nov 25, 2016 12:08 pm

Just noticed my posting odometer has hit 45,000 so posted here as I didn't think there was a dedicated 45K post thread. ;)

The public counter mark for that was hit sometime in August or September, but I don't care to check out exactly when it happened.

Nothing changed that much. Maybe some were disappointed in that, but that's not all that new here.

tcook052 Jun 28, 2017 5:32 pm

Congrats to pinniped who passed the 40K mark recently and joined the mystical realm of FT Posting Legends.

MSPeconomist Jun 28, 2017 5:37 pm

Congrats pinniped.

tcook052 Aug 21, 2017 11:03 pm

Congratulations to SkiAdcock for passing 60K post milestone. ^

Kagehitokiri Aug 21, 2017 11:49 pm

N830MH Aug 22, 2017 11:37 pm

So I need to posts more. I was away from this forums for a while. I was taking a breaks, but I don't usually posts very often. I was so extremely busy. I don't have much time. My life is very hectic.

Post counts are subject to adjustment; but net of adjustments to your posts at this moment, I realized you have dedicated yourself to FT also by posting more than 60k times. Your contribution is appreciated by me whether it's been done 60,162 times or 60,162+n times (whereby "n" is some non-zero, positive integer).

Just a few behind me. Currently three of us within 1,000 posts.

Wiki resorted.

Do I get to be added to the Wiki too? :)

You have to have a minimum number of posts before you can edit the Wiki...

E Komo Mai.

Now... if only I could celebrate on a plane somewhere :( This virus thing is really putting a cramp on my lifestyle.

Guess that means time for more posting on FT. :o

s0ssos Apr 4, 2020 11:26 pm

magiciansampras?

I looked through the names but did not know magiciansampras. And realized that person has not posted in years. So would have been way ahead of everybody else.
What happened?

:)

I've had events scheduled through May canceled, although I'm holding out a little bit of hope that events in DC in mid-May will occur, because I have been looking forward to both for so long.

I worry that Miloš Zeman will get his wish and Czech borders will be closed for a year, because that means that my trip to PRG in October will need to be rescheduled.
