Sunday activities

Thinking this might be a good activity on Sunday:

Changdeokgung (Changdeok Palace) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best preserved of Seoul's palaces. The Biwon (Secret Garden) at the back of the palace is a highlight. Access is by guided tour only with English tours at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Closed Mondays.
Access: Anguk Subway Station

Also perhaps a Han River Boat tour ?

I found the following 'review' on another travel site, and it sounded like a fantastic lunch experience!! I'm guessing it's best for Sunday perhaps, if open. Let me know what you think:

This hangar-like structure houses acres and acres of vendors, offering every sort of aquatic life imaginable from immense skate-like creatures to baby octopi to prawns, abalone, and hundreds of species that were foreign to me. After strolling the aisles taking photos, we turned our thoughts to lunch. From the vendors we bought one large flounder, which was immediately cut up into sashimi; a few abalone, which would be consumed raw; a half kilo of giant prawns; and a few oysters. Surrounding the market, both on the upper lever and a level below are strings of restaurants both Korean and Japanese. We selected one on the lower level, handed the cook our selections, and settled into a side room with a low table and floor seating. The oysters and prawns reappeared grilled, and the abalone and flounder were plated and presented to us as well. A wonderful lunch and a very good value for Seoul, which is quite an expensive city as compared to many others in Asia."

Noryangjin Fish Market

I thought for sure we would go to this place as well Dave. The Noryangjin Fish Market is listed in that Seoul Food thread from the Asia Forum that is linked earlier in this thread, here it is for reference: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=683329

Guess it is about time I started putting some "placeholder" ideas in the 1st post of this thread.@:-)@:-)

Thanks for the heads up reminder to get going:)

edited to add: I kind of had this activity listed as "fish market?"

Okay, time for me to start planning for the Seoul trip. I'll start with the most important thing: Has anybody figured out which restaurants we're going to? :D

brahms77 Sep 8, 2007 10:17 am

Not a specific restaurant, but if you go to Samchung-dong area (ask taxi driver to take you there), there are plenty of nice Korean as well as western and foreign restaurants to choose from. This area is one of the nicest places to visit in Seoul to have a nice meal and tea.

I won't be there for the Do as I am on a business trip to Thailand, but I hope everyone enjoys the visit! :)

I'm up for most anything that's agreeable to the rest of the group.

One of the suggestions that interested me was to visit the Noryangin fish market, select a fish and then have it prepared to order at one of the restaurants upstairs.
