I like DOs and have been to my fair share including the original famous Party in Paradise (the 10th anniversary will be upon us before we know it!!). The only regret I have is not attending more far away events in the last couple of years (sometimes work does get in the way), although I more regularly attend the ones in Calgary and Edmonton closer to where I work and play. It's been too long since I have raised a glass to toast catman, Rudi, Punki and Hunki, gerry.alaska, OldGold, kokonutz, Ken HAAmer, ozstamps, PremEx, AnnaS, dgolds, auh2o, tropicalflyer, baobab, magic111, wingless and a long list of memorable and more obscure characters that I have had the pleasure of meeting in Germany, Canada, USA (NY, Chicago, Tucson, SFO, Honolulu), Spain. There are many others I would also like to meet who regularly and irregularly contribute to this board.

In addition to always being a gracious host and introducing me to the high end of everything (top of Europe railway, sidecars, first class train travel, fabulous restaurants, his swiss chalet), Rudi got me (a reformed smoker, so totally opposed to smoking now) to enjoy smoking a cigar! :D

Well, no cigar for me, but I did enjoy some fine unfiltered Swiss beer :) I"ve been very fortunate to meet a number of FTers around the world, including Rudi in the 7 years I've been around FT ^
