Does that count? But I'll take Catman's welcome as a welcome from everyone who did not welcome me whether you wanted to welcome me or not :D |
At the rate at which FT membership is growing, welcoming new members could be a good way to quickly pad one's post count! ;)
How about some new titles -- in addition to "FlyerTalk Evangelist," we should add: "FlyerTalk OMNI Evangelist" "FlyerTalk Banker Evangelist" "FlyerTalk Welcome the Newbies Evangelist" ....Any suggestions for others? :D |
I got no welcome either :(

Some of us "olds" as the more Aussie among us would call us and who were at war in Vietnam had such a difficult time on our return to "the world" we have a custom of extending a "welcome home" to others who were in the same pickle (or are now.) It has been 41 years for me, and every time I welcome another vet home, or am welcomed, it still is moving. It's a tradition I like...
So, I will postulate it is never too late, and never wrong, to extend a "welcome" to another FTer. It is particularly useful IMO when we welcome a new member, even if they are just newly arrived from lurkerspace (or perhaps longtime members of other fora coming to a forum I frequent.) If the new members like the community and feel it's welcoming, where we can opine and share even marked differences of opinion with respect for others, they will learn (and some of them are already pretty kowldegeable!) and soon share valuable information and insights, and welcome others. It's not like I have a limited number of "welcomes" to give out, so for those who missed out - or those for whom it is time to run out the carpet again - :-: ^ WELCOME TO FLYERTALK! ^ :-: |
