Sweet Willie - congratulations on your Evangelist status! (Did I spell it right? :) )
seanthepilot - Great suggestion. I'll join you for drinks Friday evening at the Swissotel. We can then proceed to La Pau Sat. :) In prior years I would arrive Friday at midnight on UA deadbeat, and immediately go to sleep. So this year I've learnt my lesson. I'm arriving at midnight on UA Thursday. So I won't fall asleep Friday. I remember the walking tour 2 years ago. I'm happy to repeat this. Suggest we start with an adult refreshment at the Long Bar, Raffles Hotel (now what could that be?), proceed perhaps to Raffles Landing Site, end up at Boat Quay. |
I am willing to coordinate the Sat night No Signboard dinner. MJM also got a discount at the Greylang one. I don't know if it would apply at the Esplanade. I will check with MJM on the reasons. If the Esplanade one has room, we don't have to pay cab fare either.

Earlier in the thread I posted my interest in attending this meet.
However, I scored on the error fare to eastern Europe on NW/KL so I'm going there instead. I know you guys will have a great time at the SIN DO :( |

I think an FTer actually was our "tour guide". He did an absolutely fantastic job, as I recall. IIRC, it started or ended w/ Singapore Slings at Raffles.
I'm thoroughly embarrassed that I can't recall the FT-handle of the guide, a great guy, and a FANTASTIC tour. Best, Dave |
willem (miles4all) I believe was the tour guide. Perhaps he can be
convinced to come out of hiding and do another for newcomers to the city. |
I seem to remember a Pool Team too... was that Sunday night or Monday morning? :D

Hi everybody. My participation is official!
I'm in for the kick off drinks @ New Asia Bar at the Swissotel 71 & 72nd floor, Swissôtel and the singapore walking tour, late night dinner etc. I'm still fighting with my TA. Tix not issued yet, but I managed to block one of those rare seats on SQ333 CDG-SIN if you know what I mean ;) I'll post my detailed flight schedules once I got the confirmation from my TA. Looking forward to seeing you guys! Luke |
SIN do
I'm in. I'll arrive Thursday around midnight on UA. I've been to SIN many times, but I've never been to this event before. I'll be staying at the Swissotel, so how will I find the "group" at the New Asia bar on Friday evening? Also, I don't know where the Friday restaurant is located. There are two "No Signboard" restaurants, so which one is the Saturday night dinner at? Also, is the Mathu's that's referred to the one that is in Suntec, near the fountain??
Sorry for all the Q's, I looked through nearly all the thread and didn't find the answers. |

I am willing to coordinate the NoSignboard Sat night dinner, probably at Geylang. I will be getting some details from MJM on it.

I will arrive from lax on SQ 11 arriving on Friday night late. I think it gets in at 130 am so it looks like I will miss the new asia bar but would be up for it on saturday night after dinner. Count me in for dinner sweet wille and I will meet up for taxi sharing at the Shearaton or Conrad. I will be staying at the Shearaton looking for one of those late night pool parties I have never been to :)
Well Jan z I can tell you where I get my massages if you like...... LOL I will be around all day Sunday and would be happy to meet up for lunch or dinner. I will pass on the walking tour this year. |

Yes, this was a name your own price.
I was able to get this same price for three different trips this year in Sept, Oct, and Nov. It only seems to be avail Fri, Sat, Sun. I couldn't get the Conrad to come up on weeknights even going quite a bit higher, but I stopped because I didn't want to risk getting the Pan Pacific which I don't really care for. |

A last minute addition
OK, I'm in (traveling alone for $700.61 PDX-SIN)
Looking forward to seeing some old friends. Depart PDX NW 5 on 1/10/06 Seat 15B aisle, hopefully row 10 will open when I check in on-line. Arrive SIN 1/12/06 at 12:35. This flight is almost full in Y. Depart SIN on 1/28/06 at awful 0600. Seat 29B-exit aisle Hotel at this point is unknown. Where to go post-Do is still up in the air. Perhaps Vietnam, perhaps Malaysian Borneo. Maybe a couple of days in Bangkok. Maybe Laos. I'll figure it out prior to departure. This visit is slightly less than 30 days from our two weeks recuperation from knee replacement in Singapore and Langkawi. I'll take a pass on the Indian lunch but otherwise should be up for most other activities. |
It will be good to see you again, opushomes, although we will miss Marsha. Please give her our regards.
We will arrive early Friday evening from BKK so we will hook up with you somewhere along the way. Probably for dinner Friday night. Is there a website for the party? |
Can't make it
Sorry guys, but I will be in SFO during SIN-do, so I'll be missing this year.
Have fun!! Gaz |
