They said that on Thursday in 5 hours it exceeded 50% of the average monthly rainfall and it looks like today is working on the other 50%

I thought that the drinks at swissotel were only tonight... looks like you already got some yesterday night, (and) or this morning ;)

I would describe it more as a DOWNPOUR! I'm soaked. :)

I look forward to a weekend of seeing old friends, making new ones, and staying thouroughly "soaked" ! :D :D

Some bad news from my colleague, WWBGD and his lovely wife Alexa, tho. Upon checkin at ORD, they were informed that SIN immigration requires a 6 month minimum Passport expiration date. There's were about 2 months from expiry, so only an emergency extension from downtown Chicago was going to work. Keep your collective FT fingers crossed that we'll get to see them on Sunday!! :(

I'll arrive tonite at midnite (sitting in the TG lounge at HKG as I type) - LaPauSat, here we come!!
Best, Dave

That is such CR*P. With a return ticket, they'll have no problem at Singapore Immigration (assuming they're American). I've had this problem and just checked in with another agent. I hope they can make it.

Greetings from Pacific Coffee Company in "it is no longer raining" Singapore. Blank Sheet and I arrived last nite on NW5, coach all the way-hey, this ain't United. Transit Hotel had no reservation, but got me a room anyway. Conrad check-in at 0800 was painless with upgrade to Executive floor. Note, my Malaysian Sim does not work in Singapore, so if you need to contact us, ask for room 1808.

Looking forward to joining you at Swiss Hotel, Stanford at 2200 tonight.

The rain and the resulting difficulty in getting taxis is why I stay at the IC which is right above the metro. ;)

I'm at CDG, cya tomorrow. Where are the afternoon drinks going to be?

Message for Missy

I wasted $125 at the Hampton Inn Portland Airport the nite before departure because of snow warnings. So, for the second time this Winter no snow nor ice. Marsha was afraid she would be unable to get the car up our street so shipped me off to the Hampton. Glad you got our snow.

The address is 8 Raffles Ave, #01-14/16.. I kindof know the location but will go there tonight and post exact directions a few hours from now.

For those of you taking a taxi directly to the NoSignboard get the driver to let you out at the bus stop at the Esplanade Mall. Go through the mail door and continue to the other door, towards the river. Take a right and look for the NoSignboard. The reservation is in the name of Fowler. We have 3 tables at the far end of the restaurant.

For those of you walking from the Conrad I scouted a route today that is all inside except for about 100M. In case of heavy rain we will have to take a taxi as I got drenched today in just that short distance.

Report from the Swissotel ~ Happy hour is until 9pm. 40% off drinks

If that isn't enough to have people changing thier plans to arrive before 9, this might.

Cover charge is $22Sin after 9pm ($14.28US) and includes one standard drink.

I'll go up in a few minutes and see if I can weasel an expemption out of them. ;)

Then back to the Conrad Exec lounge, if anyone'll be there before 7.

New Asia Bar Levels 71 & 72, Swissôtel The Stamford

This two-storey bar is the 'hottest' drinking and dining place in Singapore, complete with the latest music spun by the house DJ. The look is highly 'charged', distinguished by its liberal use of vibrant, saturated colour, non-conventional furnishings and floors slanting 20 degrees to spectacular perimeter views.

There was heavy snow here ... on Thursday. For about five minutes. So, I guess the forecasters were a day off.
