No guests for me, my friends are flying home on the 24th, though I am staying on in Beirut a little longer.

24th and 25th are marked on the agenda, just let us know the details once you have them.

And pray tell, who would that be?

Well I have been looking at flights and I'm starting to sweat at the thought of flying down the back on either BMed or MEA.

Although I did find a Club fare to LCA with BA and onwards with CY or ME in economy for about GBP500. Considering economy out of LHR is about GBP380, that routing might be an option.

I need to see if I can justify the expense as well as beg for time off work.

If anyone has any other imaginative routings they can think of, please let me know.

B ;)

I'm getting economy fares for LHR-FRA-BEY on LH for about 280 pounds. Books into W-Class, which gives you full miles on both BD and UA. C-Class is 927 pounds. Bookable at www.lufthansa.co.uk, with the flexibility set to +/- 3 days.

Travelocity is showing economy fare of GBP 250 (incl taxes etc) for AZ .. with 90 mins connection in MXP (both non schengen terminal) - if you can stomach the seat.. i wouldn't do it

I flew Alitalia three weeks and ago and honestly didn't think it was THAT bad. And for that price...

The trick for flights to BEY is to book early. The longer you wait, the more expensive tickets will get. Granted this is a universal rule, but since Beirut is not "extensively" covered (other than through London and Paris), it will get a bit more expensive. Alitalia is a good option as they have an afternoon flight to BEY as well. Good luck with your travel planning and hope to see you in Beirut soon.

Hi guys,

going a bit off-topic, does someone know the name of the border crossing on the main Beirut-Damascus highway? I need it for my Syrian visa application.

Thanks,

Alex

Wish it was called something easier like "The border" or "The awesome crossing", but it is known as Massna'a and that is the main border crossing between the two countries.

You would schedule this during the exact time you knew we'd be in the US playing Meet the Parents. :furieaux:
