I'm registered, as tomexcelon

skofarrell Aug 16, 2005 9:00 pm

We've got 8, we need one more to keep the tourney from voiding. Come one come all!

kokonutz Aug 16, 2005 11:34 pm

I realize that i am retarded, but i spent over an hour registering and trying to get money into my account. Since they dont like my credit or debit cards, I am now waiting for a few cents to be deposited in my checking account so i can verify that it is mine.

If I am able to, I would love to play. but i have never before had so much trouble having a casino take my money from me!!!

Were there any bad beats?

I don't think it's until tonight!

So, how does one watch (and possibly cheer)? Do you have to download to do that?

William- you will need to download the software to be an observer.

I am registered under the name aisleorwindow :)

good luck!

Jaimito Cartero Aug 17, 2005 6:40 pm

I'm registered, but it seems to be Limit Hold 'Em and not NL. At least I won't go out in the first hand!

Seat1A Aug 17, 2005 6:45 pm

it is no limit. are you sure you're in the right tournament? my tournament lobby says "Level 1: 15/30 No Limit Hold'em".

I012609 Aug 17, 2005 6:50 pm

Okay, I'm registered.

GL all.

Koko - are you playing?? Don't you want to try for another 'Ace high royal flush'? ;)

Ah, guess I just saw the "Hold 'em" in the registration menu and then the 15/30 and got confused. Good, I can go out on the first hand! Woooo. My favorite thing to do.

Too bad. I can't do that from work. ;)

I'll see if I can download from home when I get there later tonight. Regardless, I'm a sucker for a poker game, so I'll try to play some other time.

Who won?

aisleorwindow Aug 17, 2005 7:35 pm

Update:

Well, it was not my lucky night: I finished 12th out of 13.

I was in the small blind with A 10, everyone folded to me and so I raised the big blind, jcooketo 150 (from 40). He reraised to 300, and I called. So, 600 in the pot.

Flop was A Q 10, so I was feeling good. I bet $400 and jcooke went all in. I called, but sadly he had K J giving him the nut straight :(

Next time you guys are all in BIG trouble!!! :D

My ex-friend mike is an asshat (but i am going to expense him Gordito's anyway).

QuietLion Aug 17, 2005 9:05 pm

The first FlyerTalk Poker tournament is over and JerryGuitar is the champion! He cracked my Aces early and carried my chips to victory.

We all decided to make it a regular weekly event so let's double the size of the tournament next week!

Lots of fun, looking forward to doing it again

I finally registered on the Full Tilt site last night (too late for the tourney, but thanks QL for the pointers on Neteller etc). Still learning to navigate the site, so I still have one question:
How do we know which one is the FlyerTalk $10 tourney? I saw the password listed in the first post, but what if there are multiple private tournies happening at the same time--just keep trying to register until you find the right one?

Thanks--looking forward to next week.

jcooke Aug 18, 2005 6:20 am

Was definitely a good time, I'll be back again.

if you narrow down the tournament choices by clicking the "private" tab, there shouldn't be too many starting at that time for that buy-in. once you click on the tournament lobby, it says "FlyerTalk" at the top. (at least that's how it worked this week). wasn't hard to find. there is also a tournament number that might be helpful to post after QL sets up the next one.

I registered last night to watch, but it was way too late by the time I got home. Would consider funding and playing - even began the process of opening a Neteller account - but I don't get home until around 9 PM Central on Thursday nights. Can you sign up to play and come in a little late?

Yes. You'll be forced to post blinds and your hands will be folded, but you can pick up where you left off.

Yikes. Sounds like I would need to get home in a hurry. An hour's worth of blinds and I might not have anything left.

Or perhaps we could think of occasional 10PM ET start time--might help west coast people join too.

Thanks also for the earlier guidance on tourney selection.

QuietLion Aug 19, 2005 9:13 am

As soon as I sign up, the table will turn red in the list. That will make it easier to find. Of course, I may not be able to play every week but I am already signed up for the 24th.

William, the tourneys are Wednesday nights, not Thursday.

thegingerman Aug 19, 2005 11:10 am

I'm gonna have to get in on thise :)

JerryGuitar Aug 19, 2005 12:10 pm

Maybe after we get this thing going for a couple of weeks, we could mix it up a bit so that more people are accomodated. One suggestion would be:

1st Wed of month: $10+$1, 9pm est
2nd Wed of month: $10+$1, 10pm est
3rd Wed of month: $20+$2, 9pm est
4th Wed of month: $$20+$2, 10pm est
5th Wed of month (next occurance is November): $50+$5

just a thought, although this might be more work for QL.

My bad. I knew that and just posted the day (Thursday) I came back to the thread. :D

But, Wednesdays are a long day for me as well. My short days are Tuesdays (soon to be changed to Monday) and Fridays. Not that I expect anyone to change the night of the game so I can join. I'm just trying to figure out how to work it in. ;)

I guess if you see me, I'll be there. I signed up under Brindle as a user id.
