Everyone can borrow and return the car to the curb in front of the airport. Just leave the keys under the seat or with Barney Fife. I'll bet we can buy a beater for $250.....

I'm sure we're all good drivers, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for other people's accidents. :)

Getting to MSS
If I understand things correctly, the plane stops at ART, then goes on to MSS then returns, picks up ART passengers, and continues on to PIT.
So, I want to add a new Airport - MSS - to my collection. Who is going to go THERE and take pictures? How many trips to ART do I have to take before the same pilot agrees to let me hitch a ride to MSS and back? Do I really have to shell out $216 to fly ART-MSS-ART while on my $2 flight from SEA-PIT-ART-PIT-SEA? If anyone has any luck flying along to the next stop with some pilot on their immediate turn, let us know! |

I didn't know about OGS. Thanks for pointing it out!
That makes it even worse! I've got to see them both. If they are downstream from ART, how tiny must they be! The best I've found is $211 ART-MSS-OGS-ART. 10:45-11:20 11:35-12:00 12:10:12:35 just in time for heading back to PIT. Now I wonder if the cheap fares would have allowed OGS and MSS as well. I'd have got another 1000 miles per round trip AND not had to sit at the picnic table for two hours in November cold all for the same price. And to make things worse, the connection is 10 minutes in OGS, and the minimum legal connection is 15 minutes, so I can't even buy an immediate turn ticket, and all my PIT tickets are immediate turn! Does anyone have any bright ideas how to freeload getting to MSS and OGS? |

I can't get an Enterprise rental with airport pickup to price out at less than $39.95 a day with a two day minimum. We arrive and depart while they are closed for the weekend, Saturday afternoon and Sunday noon.
I will look forward to reports from those who booked at lower prices. I used the FBO Brouty Aviation option, both on the phone and internet, and there was nothing from Enterprise for ART pickup and return for less than $39.95. So, we will be cabbing it. After some investigation and input from a local (thanks, B6_Flyer), we are staying in Sackets Harbor at the Ontario Place Hotel. $79 for one night, May 14. There was no internet availability, but a phone call got us a room. Sackets Harbor is closer to ART than Watertown, and there are actually things to see and do, good restaurants, etc. It's on the Black River Bay, and the Ontario Place overlooks the water. So, the mileage run is now a mini-vacation, thanks to my wife. I'm just glad she will do these once in awhile. :) |
Any other reports of trips to ART??

Ok folks, it's go time....
I'm going to ART on Wednesday. Anybody want me to start a log or something and leave it with the US people? If you'd like, I've got a bunch of nice plastic US luggage tags I'll leave with the US station manager and ask him to pass them out upon request. I volunteer to donate a notebook or something for people to sign in with. I've got trips to ART on this Wed (Apr 27th) and again next Wed the 4th of May. |
How about some more pictures? Maybe some of PIT, the people in ART... whatever you can think of. The more pictures the better!! :)

. I dunno what the logistics of this would be, but I like the idea anyway. I'm not going until Labor Day or I'd do it myself. |
