Time flies when you are having fun

Thanks for the memory-lane trip, PIP planning committee, minus one.

I joined FT and went to PIP in the same week, at cousin craig6z’s suggestion (so it’s my anniversary, too). Man, I thought that PIP’s were a weekly event.

I was back at the scene of the crime, HHV, this September, but drank hugely less.

Thanks again for dinner, Randy, and the 5 years of ongoing comradeship. And cheers also to the unique community generosity that began, for me, at PIP and follows to this day.

Rudi, we missed you, but your "floating head" was quite a character. It even got some strange looks from the people around us.
More than strange looks...it got some darn funny comments from barflies as well! ;)

I'm glad the weather cleared up for you today. It was a beautiful day!!
I'll say! Just beautiful. I've never seen Diamond Head that green before. But glad the week-long rain seemed to have backed down shortly after our arrival. Catman had to return to New Jersey, but I'm staying on a bit and enjoying this fantastic weather! As a matter of fact, there's a pretty incredible sunset view forming outside my lanai right now! :)

Thanks again TF for coming out in the rain to meet up with us for that first Anniversary evening, and also Thanks to you for putting the good word in to whatever Hawaiian God(s) control the rain and sunshine! :)

To Craig6z re: Jailer's post: Yeah. We still curse the day you invited him. ;)

I had to stand next to him in the group photo! I still can't get his grimy handprints off my clothes!

Thanks for bringing back a lot of good memories! I am so glad that I made the trip with all of you!

It was quite a party and always a great memory :)

In Sept, 1999, we met Flyertalkers for the first time at the Top of the Mark in SF, including the amazing Rudi in full Swiss regalia. I had read about the PIP but it never occurred to me to actually go to it. But the wild and crazy bunch that night talked us into it. Thank you all for that! We just ran across a box full of memorabilia the other day. Really brought us back. Kudos to the planners!!! It was, by far, the best DO Flyertalk ever had. And we did not even get to party en route! All that chocolate, all those upgrade certs and wonderful Randy treating us to so much.

karen2, yes, it was great talking you into it - and what memories we have (including your company later at DIM-SUM breakfasts, or for a beer after a Shark's hockey game, or our visit to a show in San Francisco).

How is your health right now, flying/travelling again?

Greetings from Gisela too!

Thanks for asking, Rudi! Doing fine. I have not traveled outside the US yet. Will do so most likely after a year has passed. However, we have been to NYC several times and Vermont for the fall color. Going to New Orleans Nov 30, back to the scene of the EVENT. Come along and bring Gisela! We have missed dim sum with you. When will you be back for a 49ers game?

What great fun that was!

We never did get to do the Guy Fawkes Day bonfire, either. Merry was greatly missed, as was baobab. What a surprise (to me at least) when Randy showed up with a major part of what was to be the House of Miles staff in tow.

I really met some great people that time!
