Timing is Everything - London Nov. 6th?
For the second year in a row, I'll miss an FT Do in London by a week. Anyone else up for a drink/dinner on Nov. 6th? Doing a quick trip arrive morning of the 6th heading back morning of the 7th.
I actually talked a non FT'er into going with me on an EXP (for me) qualifying trip! Will be staying at the Sheraton Belgravia. |
I'd love to, MikeFly but, if I can swing the leave, I hope to be in the US that weekend to watch the Panthers (hopefully) beat the Raiders. I'll watch this space.
|
Im in London that weekend as well
Im in much the same situation. I have to be at a meeting at work the weekend of the "do". I am doing LGA-DFW-LGW on the 5th and arriving the morning of the 6th. Doing the reverse on the 7th. Defineately interested in drinks and/or dinner. Maybe there are others as well. London is pretty popular for runs this time of year I imagine.

Unfortunately, I'll be in NYC for a trade show. |
Well sounds like MikeFly & GadgetFreak should meet up for a drink. Ye Olde Grapes, where our group is going, isn't that far from Belgravia if my geography serves me correctly (and it might not). Or you could go to Luigi's in Soho a week early to check it out for the rest of us! :) Have fun. Cheers. Sharon

Luigi's it is
Unless convinced differently between now and Nov. 5th I'll check out Luigi's. Any pre Do items you want me to take care of?
|
Nah, I pretty much know the place (Luigi's). They luv me there - and I luv them. If you decide to go, you'll enjoy it. If you pick another place, no biggie. Cheers. Sharon

Bumping this a bit to see if anyone but the two of us will be in London Nov. 6? I would think it would be a popular destination with double EQMs and gettem while they not $500 upgrades about.... ;)

Meet for Drinks
I suggest that for those who will be in London on the 6th we meet at 6pm, at the Duke's Bar inside of the Duke's Hotel at St.James Place SW1A1NY - the phone number is 7491 4840. A link to their web site is: http://www.dukeshotel.co.uk/index.php. It is my only "must" do while in London.
The Duke's bar is my favorite in the world. They have a bartender that makes the best cocktails in the world especially a martini. If anyone is up for dinner afterwards - I am open to any suggestions. Hopefully at least GadgetFreak and Chartreuse will make it. Anyone else in town? |
Sounds great. I'll be there. I love a good martini. Im partial to Indian food in London after if people are up for it. Or Im game for dinner anywhere people suggest if they would like to make it dinner also.

Indian?
GadgetFreak - I would love some good Indian food. Unfortunately, I have never had Indian in London let alone good Indian. Do you have any recommendations? Should wemake some preliminary reservations?
|
Well I have never been to London but I see on the map the Duke Hotel is by Buckingham Palace so if I am not too lost around 6 I will try. :)
|
Myefre - Hope you can make it!! Not sure by your post if you live in London but the Duke's hotel is close to Buck House - it is in a tiny 'square' at St. James Place.
See you there! |
You could try this place.....

I know that there are other alternatives, like Brick St, or perhaps Islington, but this place is relatively near to your "libation" location, and perhaps you'd have as a good a meal there as I have. Best wishes, Dave |
