Dinner in SEA - October 9th
 

Passing through Seattle on a Run with Izzik ... we arrive 4ish, leaving 11ish ... anyone up for dinner at the B.A. Grill?

Dahling, I'm afraid 7 hours simply isn't enough for a SEA dinner and hot tub experience, so dinner it will have to be. Then again, if it was timed right... :D

I am among the uninitiated for the tub but can I have a Bar alliance card? This will be my second trip. :)

Second trip gets you Bar Alliance Silver. Once you make five, you get Gold, which is our highest level, though we'll eventually need Bar Alliance Iridium for folks like alanw*, missydarlin, bkkth, and myself who eat there so much we might as well have our own private table. :)

First timers at fredmartens' get Tub World Ruby. I think Tub World Sapphire is five or more and if you get the neighbors yelling at you, that is Emerald.

* - As the man who hooked most all of us on the BAG in the first place, alanw does have honorary Bar Alliance Unobtanium level with the Red (Meat) card.

This should be good for us and give enough time in case the flight is delayed. Thanks Missy.

Silver works - not too bad with this being only my second visit to Seattle :) I'll have to work on the Tub status another trip.

Only if you'll also be in town for the 9th.

As I semi-understand it from Missy (who is stuck in jury duty all week...the poor kid! :D) we have a table for 8 at BA Grill on Saturday the 9th. I'm sure she'll clarify later tonight, as I couldn't hear her very well on the cell phone (tough to hear at 75 mph with the top down on the convertible). Doc, are ya in or what? This oughtta be a nice warmup for Chocolate Do the followiing weekend....

It looks as if I will be in the area on the 7th but have to return the morning of the 8th. I will be in Yakima. Unfortunately, I have to return for work and cannot get out of the current schedule. :mad: Don't the people of my company know that this cramps my FT schedule? I hope that all have a great time. If I am able to attend, I will certainly let you know.

Missy pointed me to this thread, and I was hoping to be able to join you all, but it appears that work will suck me up again. :mad: One of these days, I will make it to a SEA DO, I live too close to the BA Grill to miss this many gatherings.

Fred and Tigger ... "stuffed and smashed" -- sounds kind of good, actually We'll give it a shot, not too stuffed I don't fit in that seat, though (wishing it was a 777 or 767 instead of an A320). :p

I'm still waiting on a build, so I may be stuck here a while. :p At least I have the new-to-me continental.com "All" search option to keep me entertained. :D

I was an hour into my drive to PHL this morning when Izzik called to see if I had heard that our PHL-DEN flight had been cancelled :eek: The default flights they booked us on was a PHL-IAD-SEA itinerary leaving PHL an hour earlier. That was too early for either of us to make the flight. :(

A call to UA got me an IAD-SEA itinerary ;) leaving SEA an hour earlier but without that 3 hour drive home from PHL and arriving home early in the morning, I took it!! I switched the outbound from the non-stop when I found out all that was left was middle seats and F was booked -- now I'm flying in via DEN on a 777 with upgrades in place thanks to an great UA GA here at IAD. The connection is tight ... so fingers are tightly crossed (I'm in around 7 if I miss the first connection). Izzik rebooked onto a flight via ORD and will arrive into SEA around 5:30 -- so he may be a little late for dinner.

So much for a nice day of travel with a friend, but still looking forward to dinner ....

Fear not. All that meat takes a while to consume, and there is always more on the way. :)

I think I'll skip the Platter tonight. My body suffered after the last visit to the Grill.

Yeah, no platter for me, either. Going with either the New York or the skirt steak.

Besides, since fred ditched us last time, he's obligated to go with the Platter and we can scavenge chorizo off of him. :)

No platter for moi either. I think I'll keep an open mind with regard to the menu and a closed mind with regard to the wine. The Malbec is delicious and henceforth, the decision has been made...it shall be quaffed. Will be in the bar by 5:30 as long as I can find a place to park the behemoth club cab F-150...probably more comfy for the gorged passengers headed back to SEA after dinner.

Connections made and I'm now in SEA :cool: ... Izzik's last flight was a little late but he should arrive into SEA around 5:30pm.

I'm still a Platter newbie and would definitely get it again, but I'm afraid it wouldn't have the same effect without the sled of meat for six people. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Somebody will have to post pictures of the lucky one amongst yourselves who tangoes atop the bar.

We'll miss ya, blort, but consider some cow ingested on your behalf this evening.

Now I need to figure out when the next trip to SEA will be.

Uh, that would be New Year's....or before :) Nice meeting Izzik and having steakage with the bunch...unbelievable that no one had the platter of doom. BTW, it took the dog all of 57 seconds to eat half that sirloin. What a pig!
