I purchased an Economy Class ticket in April, and my flight is in December with Oman Air. I recently received the e-ticket, and it shows the cabin as Business (R). My question is: does this mean I have been upgraded to Business Class, or is it something else?
In the online �Manage Booking� section, it still shows Economy.

Your thoughts or experiences on this would be greatly appreciated!

Oman changed their fare buckets in June to better align with the rest of the Oneworld alliance.

So what was being sold as R was economy in April should have been changed to U in June when all the fare buckets changed.

Now what that means for you is uncertain. Did your ticket fail to get changed from R to U? Would Oman really have no checks and balances to not spot errors? What seatmap can you see in your booking?

But it will be one of those cases where it's probably best to just be poker faced at check in and at the gate. If you manage to get your bum in business then just enjoy it but don't highlight your surprise in any way.
And if you do get economy you could try to argue your case based on the e-ticket (technically that's your contract) but don't expect anything - the check in staff will have virtually no discretion to move you, they will just call Oman for clarification on what to do. So don't be disappointed and don't give the front line staff a hard time.
