For money transfer, Wise should work with the post office bank. You just need to get their IBAN info and it will go right in. I’ll dm you a referral.
As for the 15 year old, how do you feel about adopting a child for 2-3 years until she joins the army or does national service? |

But it is not flying to her home city in Siberia, where she has an apartment she can live in. The question is whether she would buy her ticket from Turkish or from Aeroflot.
The other problem is the 15-year-old daughter. She hates being called "Russian" and everything about Russia. She is completely Israeli. She will not want to return to Russia. When she was 7-years-old she decided that I am her grandfather and still refers to me as such. Should her parents require her to return with them? If she wants to stay in Israel, should I offer to let her live in my house? Can a 15-year-old girl be comfortable living with a 77-year-old man and (not now, but perhaps in a year or two) have to take care of him? |

Personally, I think it's crazy that they want to go back to Russia; especially Siberia.

His passport is set to expire in a couple months, and he told me that they recently changed the law so that now male citizens cannot renew their passports while abroad--they must return to Mother Russia to renew. So he says he may have to risk going back. |
for Dovster - would it work out for the 15-year-old to live with the daughter or son and their families? Would it be too inappropriate for her to live with a 77-year-old man? And yes 99% that her father gets drafted when returning to Russia even in Siberia.

I have a Russian coworker here in Taiwan who is facing this same question. He does not want to go back home for fear that he will be drafted (his brother was drafted early in the war, and was KIA within a couple weeks).

ugh very sad. There is zero way he can avoid a draft if he returns to Russia. Can he get any kind of asylum in Taiwan?
He did say that he is rather low on the priority list for conscription due to some health issues, so there's a decent chance he wouldn't get called up. But it's still a risk. |

He said he was going to try to apply for refugee status, but the odds of success are very low. Taiwan is a great country in many ways, but they don't have a very good track record for taking in refugees (except for that one time in 1949 ;))

Once his passport is renewed will he be able to return to Taiwan?

Israel has just received visa waiver status from the U.S. Marina, who sometimes lives in CloudCooCoo Land, has decided that she wants the family to move to the U.S. I explained to her that she will be on a tourist visa, won't be able to get work, and certainly can't pay for a place to live.
