Firstly, let me welcome you to FlyerTalk and congratulate you on making your first post.

Please be more specific in your question. Are you referring only to WAZE? Are you restricting it to any specific part of the country?

Dovster, I heard a home in your kibbutz scored a direct hit from a hezbollah missile, I hope you and your belonging are safe and sound.

Three buildings were hit on different days. One was the kibbutz's auto repairs garage, the second was a building in our B&B, and the third was a shed which one of the members used for storage. None of these suffered major damage and nobody was injured.

In peace time, unemployment insurance only lasts 6 months. No announcement has yet been made as to whether or not it will be extended because of the war.

I am a bit embarrassed to admit it but I did something incredibly stupid yesterday and moved back home to my kibbutz. As the saying goes, "No matter how humble -- or close to the Lebanese border it is -- there is no place like home".

I intend to stay here and only make short trips to a nearby Arab village to do some light shopping, go to restaurants, and stop in to visit some friends there. My son is upset that I returned, my daughter figures it is suicidal, and Marina and her daughters are deeply sorrowed that I moved so far from them that I can no longer take them to restaurants and/or buy them clothing.

Hezbollah also seems a bit purtubed that I am back in their neighborhood as they fired four rockets at me yesterday (but, fortunately, missed).

So is it no longer compulsory to evacuate the kibbutz? Or did you go undercover? :D

It is semi-compulsory. The Army tells you that you can't live there. If you argue about it, the Army gives in, warning you that is not responsible to protect you, and an Army guard at the main (and now, only) gate keeps track of when you enter and leave.

No seder, but I am stocking up on food that is kosher for Passover.

Stay safe Dovster

And I vaguely understand.

Dovster Apr 18, 2024 10:43 am

Apparently, someone from Hezbollah reads FT as the day after I returned home, two rockets landed about 60 meters from my house. Nobody was hurt and the Israeli Army returned fire. We were notified to go into our bomb shelters and, about an hour later were told it is safe to leave them. I don't know if the Hezbollah officer who gave the order for the shelling is a jealous husband.

gaobest Apr 18, 2024 11:57 pm

Definitely a jealous husband.

karenkay Apr 19, 2024 3:06 pm

all the husbands become jealous where Dovster is concerned!

hi, friend. stay safe.
