I went to my high school reunion once. A total waste of time since I lost touch with all of them when I left town. You won't have fickle friends at the LEX DO. Hope you come.
It's true that I mostly already keep in touch with the people I really care about keeping in touch with, but there's sort of a second tier that I am connected with on Facebook in the superficial way that you do, that I wouldn't mind spending an evening or two with. Also the teachers, too (as lame as that may sound )

There's also LEX DO twice a year (absent force majeure) and milestone reunions only every 5 years but we'll see...

I got no interest in going to my HS reunion. Seeing all the girls again who wouldn’t go out with me back then doesn’t sound like much fun. And most of my classmates, judging from their Facebook posts, are whackjobs anyway.

I just saw (first time I noticed) TV ads for two different online horse race betting aps for cell phones. Does anyone know when this became legal in the USA, or should we assume that these are offshore outfits, like the online gambling sites for casino-like games? [I'm guessing that some of the Keeneland regulars here will know.] Obviously it wouldn't be nearly as much fun as going to the track in person.

I don't know exactly when, but I'm sure that betting via cell phone has been legal in the US for at least most of a decade, maybe even longer.

There’s a company near me that makes bourbon mustard. Craft beer (IPA) also. Available on Amazon and reasonable. Might have to get some for the next LEX party.

Bourbon ? Plochman's Mustard

It has been though there are still some individual states that don't allow it. Texas is an example. The major, legal US-based advance deposit wagering (ADW) sites will not accept wagers from Texas residents nor from devices with IP addresses in Texas.

MSPEconomist: many of the big players in ADW that advertise on TV or the internet are US-based. Two of the biggest are actually owned by the same folks who own racetracks: Churchill Downs, Inc. owns TwinSpires.com and the New York Racing Association owns NYRA Bets.

One article lists 2000 as the year which electronic wagering became legal:
"The Interstate Horseracing Act of 1978, amended in 2000 to include telephone and other electronic forms of wagering in states where that type of betting is legal, provides an explicit exemption for horse racing to conduct interstate wagering."

Glad to hear it wasn't a permanent closure! I hope you all had as good a Derby Day as possible under the circumstances. We have friends who host an annual Derby party here in SAT, and this was the first year that both of us were scheduled to be in town and off work to attend.

Agreed. I wonder if the distilleries are eligible.
Looking forlornly at my liquor cabinet. My favorites are shrinking: 'Forgiven' by Wild Turkey and 'Stave + Barrel' by Glenns Creek. https://glennscreekdistillery.com/
These pair magnificently with my latest shipment of Cubans.

There are bad accidents and sometimes there are good accidents but I didn't know there could be good senior moments. I accidentally bought a bottle of Bulleit Rye, forgetting that I had an unopened one.
