Chicago Dinner - March - high end ($$$$)
OK,
Normally I like getting together at cheap places to find a great meal at a great value. How about a white tablecloth, cutting-edge restaurant this time? I’m thinking either: Trio (Evanston) http://www.trio-restaurant.com/ Or Moto http://www.motorestaurant.com/ Anyone up for the experience???? I’m thinking March, probably a Thursday night as if it is a small group we could get the chef’s table and if large group it will be easy to accommodate. |
IMHO...not worth the trip to Evanston...unless coming from Lake Forest / Highland Park....too far from downtown and Le Francais is consistantly better.even from the north...
|
BTW- I would prefer downtown.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Let's say Tru...or...or...open to suggestions.... |

I just went to Avenues at The Peninsula last night. It definitely qualifies as high end (about $150 per person). But it was fabulous. Great seafood. Great service. Four amuse bouches in addition to what we ordered. It was outstanding. And the room is very, very nice with a great view of the Water Tower.

I could definitly make a Friday dinner (thursday are rough due to client obligations). I enjoyed my Sweet Willie choice of restaurant dinner in August. I prefer downtown area though for ease of transportation.

I should be able to make Friday the 19th or 26th. I am in Phoenix on the 5th and my dad's birthday is the 12th.

I'm good... Avenues sounds like a good idea; definitely not Tru...been there, done that if you know what I mean. (Willie, I tend to agree with you re Le Francais). The Peninsula is great, I hit the spa there frequently and have stayed a couple times.
