Later today, FlyerTalk will hit yet another milestone in it's history - our 3,000,000th post. While we probably are well past that mark if not for the thread corruption we experienced in an earlier version of technology, we are quite pleased to achieve this level of posts on FlyerTalk. We are currently the #2 travel bulletin board in the world (narrowly behind Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree) but ranked #1 in the world in the posts per member ratio.

What all this means is that I have to again bow my head with respect to the tens of thousands of members that have made this level of posts possible. Today, nearly 40,000 visitors will come to FlyerTalk to read and use the endlessly interesting and endlessly surprising flow of information posted about frequent flyer miles and points as well as the general topic of travel. (And let me not forget to mention that some will want to see the eclectic mix of opinions some of our members have posted in OMNI.)

It's all in a day here at FlyerTalk and as I truly can answer to anyone that asks - "No, I would have never guessed that the level of posts we see today, nor the level of passion about FlyerTalk was ever possible." With that, my personal and most humble thank you to all the members that have made this possible. See you all online..."

According to the counter on the entry page, there are currently 2,998,799 posts.

(Edited to add) and according to the URL this is post 3 million plus 5,238.

And as Randy himself even acknowledges, the counter on the front page is incorrect. The post number for this post is something to the effect of 3,005,000 or something like that.

Where's the counter, KiwiFlyer? Are you adding up the totals of the individual forums?

With the removal of OMNI, we're back to 2.7 mil (maybe 2.8 now that it is daylight in certain prolific posting regions :o ).

So who will make the NEW 3MM post?

Yup post count dropped, as did FT ranking. Of course its still #1 in my book :)
