I'm confused- how come the first post in the thread refers to Sept. 13, but the title states Dec. 13? Typo?

Hi guys,
I just saw this DO and I have always been tempted to meet some of these FT crazies(myself included), since I'll be in Paris that night anyway, I'm very tempted... I alrady have dinner plans, but maybe I can drop by later. Hope to meet you all. elsie |
I notice that a bunch of you are flying out on Sunday morning 14 Dec on UA961 at 11:10am. I'll keep my eye out for everyone as I will be on that flight also on the back to LAX leg of my mileage run. I'm slated for seat 9D, but if nothing else have me paged at the gate "Scott Guy" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. I hope to see you guys and gals then.
------------------ Cheers Scott |
Scott the flier - are you not able to join us for dinner Saturday evening? Are you flying in and out of CDG on Sunday morning!
I'm on UA 961 CDG-SFO Dec.14, seat 8F. (Thank you United for this upgrade!) Will look forward to chatting with you. |
Just found out that most shops will be open on Sunday for X-Mas shopping.
Life is good http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif PS: the easiest way to get to the bar and restaurant is to get off at the "Saint Paul" subway stop on line 1 (direct from the Champs Elysees and the Marriott) |
BTW, what is "slumming"? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

Im here in Paris now and gosh it is COLD. Bring your mufflers!

|
GK, what the hell are you doing in HKT?? You are supposed to SLAVE on decorating you appartement for MY coming in Febuary!
Does this mean that the ceiling mirrors won't be ready?? |
Little G2 and I will be in Paris, leaving tonight on UA 914 from IAD and returning Sunday the 14th on UA 915. We probably won't stop by since we are spending Saturday at Disneyland and Gamin de Paris doesn't sound too kid friendly, but if you think it's okay for an 11 year old for just a half an hour, post here and let me know.
|
G2, myself SeeYa, and JayBrian will all be on the Sunday 915 back to IAD, so even if we don't see you in Paris proper, I am sure we'll see you on the way back.
|
Sorry folks, but the restaurant can't accomodate a party of 16 for dinner on Saturday before 22:30 (Deuxième service).
Anyhow, we're reserved for then under the name "Missy" (who else?). |

dlnewbie,
Right now kidlet and I are on the wailist for C. Our seats are in the second row of E+ unless and untill we get the upgrade. I am 5'8 and blonde, kidlet is 11 years old and brunette. If I can find my flyertalk hat, I will wear it. Right now there are 14 unassigned seats in C and I called UA and we are on "high priority" on the list. Wish us luck. Where are you guys? |
Originally posted by G2: ...if you think it's okay for an 11 year old for just a half an hour, post here and let me know. The bar just next to Richard, "Les Etages" has some okay tapas should she be hungry, and of course there's always the ice cream parlour (famous for its sorbets) just next to it... |
G2, on the way back we are currently in row 21 G,H,J, slumming it in E+
|
Right then... Anyone figure out what they are doing before 7:30? I haven't been to Paris for years so I wouldn't mind doing some sightseeing. Or will you "slumming" at the hostel all day?
|
Originally posted by stimpy: Im here in Paris now and gosh it is COLD. Bring your mufflers! Grrrrr/brrrr... ... it is SO hard to look chic when you are bulked up like a snowman! |

As for shopping, H&M is a must for cool unique clothes at a decent price. And it's on Rue Rivoli which has miles of chic shops.
|
As for shopping. . .do not pass up Monoprix! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif The "Target" of Paris. Great stuff at excellent prices.
Rue deCler market on Saturday is also enjoyable (in the 7th) for those looking for chocolates they have a JosBruges store there. And for the women who can't get enough cosmetics/skin products, Caudalie is 1/2 the price in Paris as it is here in the States. |
Even though I wasn't one of the chosen, I'll go ahead and post missydarlin's number as a public service:
+33 684 78 91 78 I woke up this morning with a dreadful sore throat and cold. If I don't feel better in the morning I may have to bag. But I hope not. ------------------ -alan in sitges, home of the new, improved Si-Re-Do |

Awwwwwww.... I will miss meeting AlanW yet again! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I hope you feel better.
We are at DFW now... enjoying the cheap wanna-be bubbles at the A AC bar. Looking forward to getting to ORD and the Flagship Lounge for real champagne. |
I'm here in Paris. See you all tonite at 830pm
I hate these French keyboards.... |
Looking forward to meeting everyone tonight.
UA has been very good to me. SFO-CDG was full Friday, and I got an op up to F. Is this a "double upgrade", as I upgraded to C with SWU? My first trip in international F - I could get used to this. (Double status miles too!) I'm at the Cyberc@fe de Paris, 15 rue des Halles, getting in from the rain. They have "normal" keyboards. |
I'm sorry I couldn't come tonight due to personal matters, that's too bad :-(
I hope another time Marc |
