Seattle Dining Do - Dec. 8th through 12th

To all Seattle based FTers and those that will be in the area:

I will be in the Seattle area again between 12/8 and leaving 12/12 in the am (early). I would like to get together again with fellow FTers for an evening of dinner and drinks. My last meeting (10/25) was at the Buenos Aires Grill and was certainly a pleasure. I would not be against meeting there again. missydarlin, care to offer another location? Thanks all.

SEA_Tigger Oct 31, 2003 12:45 pm

Last was a blast, so count me in wherever it may be!

alanw Oct 31, 2003 5:29 pm

Depending upon schedule, I may well be in SEA during the first part of your visit.

And I am all about the meat.

I don't think missydarlin will have any argument with another trip to BA http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Alan!

Ok, so that is three "platters of doom".

Any other takers?

missydarlin Oct 31, 2003 9:09 pm

oh no ..do we HAFTA go to BA grill? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif How about this... if Barcelona Boi gets himself a ticket and confirms, we'll definitely go to BA grill. Otherwise we can perhaps branch out and try another of Seattle's fabulous dining establishments? Let me ponder for a bit and I'll present our out of town guest with some suggestions.

I'm available the 8th and 9th, but I'll have to leave for work at 8pm.

Hunki Oct 31, 2003 9:52 pm

It looks like we'll have to miss this meeting of the carnivores. We'll be visiting Punki's siblings in Orlando for the weekend.

I'll let you know how the new DigEplayers are since we'll flying AS First.

Alan, will you be staying long enough for a beer or two at Hoyt's?

Punki Nov 2, 2003 6:38 pm

Go to the bottom of the second page here to see pics of the last dinner.

We will try to hook up for the next one, but it will depend on when we return from MCO. I don't eat red meat and Hunki is supposed to be cutting back. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

AARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH, Punki!!! Now you have done it. I am official now that my picture is posted. I may no longer post and hide. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

missydarlin Nov 17, 2003 3:37 pm

The red meat is calling ..........

The official word is

Buenos Aires Grill
Tuesday Dec 9th 6pm

lalala Nov 17, 2003 3:45 pm

is there something other than red meat there? I could bring jacques as my date, but he doesn't have such hot table manners.

If so, I think I'll be awake enough to attend. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

alanw Nov 17, 2003 4:39 pm

Still pending. Working on it. But the "platter of doom" is a definite incentive!

Hunki, I don't think I'm allowed to leave SEA without at least ONE night filled with pint-sized beefeater tonics at Hoyt's. God help us all.

I've never looked past the red meat section of the menu, but I believe they have a fish option

There are a couple different salads as well as a grilled veggie side. Or you could opt for a nice leafy green mojito to accompany a dulce de leche crepe.

I too would be a lot happier with a better choice of vegetarian and/or grilled chicken or fish than the Buenos Aries Grill appears to offer. I can splurge occasionally on calories, (maybe Jalisco), but can't do red meat.

Thanks. I have always enjoyed the Emerald City. I have a good friend that used to live in the area but has moved back to Colorado. I do have my newfound friends that are Seattle based and appreciate their company. Maybe we shall meet up the next time I am in the area.

RobotDoctor Nov 28, 2003 8:13 am

Does anyone have a preference for the night of the dinner. It appears that Buenos Aires Grill is the place to meat, so to speak. I arrive at SEA around 5:30 Monday afternoon so Monday around 7:00 would work. Also, Tuesday would be a good night as well. I am game so let me know. Thanks.

missydarlin Nov 28, 2003 6:50 pm

i have other commitments on Monday night, but if thats better for the rest of you..just eat extra on my behalf http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

bkkth Nov 29, 2003 12:10 am

How can anyone in SEA pick up a knife and fork without Ms AS being in attendance? It MUST be on Tuesday.

SEA_Tigger Nov 29, 2003 8:16 am

Agreed. A SEA party is not a SEA party without Missy in attendance!

RobotDoctor Dec 1, 2003 8:21 am

Tuesday it is.

lalala Dec 1, 2003 10:10 am

My Tuesday travel plans have been postponed, so count me as a 75% show.

I'll tell you by the end of the week.

lala

missydarlin Dec 1, 2003 4:45 pm

YEAH!! I might finally get to meet lalala http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

lalala Dec 1, 2003 5:27 pm

and I'll get to meet missy! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I will be carrying the large plastic lined tote to bring home a doggy treat.

He can smell meat a mile away. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Punki Dec 6, 2003 10:22 am

I have checked out the menu and there is nothing there that I can eat. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Is there no chance of switching to a different, healthier, venue???

We may stop by for a glass of red wine. Hurray, hurray, red wine is way up at the top of the healthy list. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Right up there with vegetables.

fredmartens Dec 6, 2003 1:04 pm

Another SEA dining do, another binness trip on AS SEA-PHX 12/9-12/10 for moi. My timing must be terrific (please note "timing" and "terrific" as absolutely dripping with sarcasm). Have fun, y'all, please have a forkful o' cow & sip o' red vino for me.

SEA_Tigger Dec 6, 2003 2:34 pm

Well your always welcome to drop by for after-dinner drinks and those evil caramel de luce (sic) crepes Punki and Hunki!

chexfan Dec 6, 2003 2:57 pm

Ahh poop. I already have commitments to see the Christmas Ships on Richmond Beach for tuesday. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

bkkth Dec 6, 2003 3:05 pm

I'll be there. Just got back from BsAs and Punta del Este, in dire need of beef and good wine already. What time?

missydarlin Dec 6, 2003 9:43 pm

6pm http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

RobotDoctor Dec 7, 2003 8:28 am

Well gang, I have bad news. I will not be in the Seattle are between the 8th and 12th. The customer I was to be at postponed the training call. I am not sure when the reschedule will be. Sorry to miss the dinner on the 9th. I will certainly let you all know when I will be in town again. Sorry to miss the get-together.

Best regards,

RD

bkkth Dec 9, 2003 8:04 am

Dinner on as scheduled I trust.

missydarlin Dec 9, 2003 12:12 pm

I'll be there... 6pm sharp http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

bkkth Dec 9, 2003 12:58 pm

And I'll be there at 6PM sharp, or as soon as I find a parking space!

SEA_Tigger Dec 9, 2003 2:52 pm

I shall be present!

lalala Dec 9, 2003 3:50 pm

79.6% chance of showing, but I can't stay really super late.

The reservation is under which nom?

lala

missydarlin Dec 9, 2003 4:47 pm

We never make reservations ... its never that busy on a weeknight.

The place is small, we'll be easy to find. Punki's first post on this thread has a link to pictures of all of us who will be there http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

bkkth Dec 9, 2003 4:59 pm

I printed the picture showing our waiter, Sebastian, and gave it to him the last time I was there. I think he was flattered. (At least I had great service!)

missydarlin Dec 9, 2003 10:30 pm

MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

It was great seeing the regulars, and meeting lalala. We didnt quite make round three on the platter of doom like we did last time, but we still ate our fair share. Lalala's grilled sea bass looked pretty darn tasty too.

I didn't show up and subsequently have been cast in the forgotten file. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

BTW, I had a hand in the platter of doom feast. At least my stomach. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
