Thanks dlnewbie! I know it would be asking too much to add hotels, so I won't ask!!!

Ok, if anyone is in Venice on August 22-24, and would want to meet up at the Hotel Cipriani for drinks...let's talk. Otherwise, we can stay on the main island and have Belini's at Harry's. Heck, we can meet just about anywhere, but I suggest the previous two places!

What about it???

Cheers.

Edited to correct the arrival date to the 22nd! Sorry.

Hi,

I'm in the 8/28-9/1 slot. More of a Firenze trip, tho I will be in Venice on 8/31.. (and subsequently at the airport that night). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

sbm12 Aug 1, 2003 6:42 am

I will be there (+3), departing LGA on 8/27, returning on the 6:20am on 9/1.

Only one night in Venice, the rest in Verona/Garda and driving back to the airport at 4am for the departure. See you on the flight home Izzak.

Also, fo anyone looking for something relatively fun and touristy to do in Venice, The "Secret Itinerary" at Doge's Palace comes highly recommended (I haven't done it, but it was suggested to us and we've booked our space). You have to make reservations in advance, and the fee is EU11.50/person for the tour. They do the tour in English twice daily (9:55a and noonish). To book, call +39.041.520.9070. Here's a link to one description (the phone number on the page is wrong...the one above is the correct number).

Just wanted some recommendation on which T-shirts attract the most attention/comments, white/heather grey, etc? Hopefully I can get then in 10 days...

What was the cancellation penalty?

diana Aug 9, 2003 7:51 pm

cervisiam, check your email.

Ick, I spoke to NW to try and change my seats on the JFK-AMS-JFK segments the other day. No dice unless I wanted one of the few remaining center seats. She told me that KLM flights are always full. Will arriving at JFK early make a difference? Can I get an exit row? Obviously being platinum on CO doesn't help!

izzik Aug 11, 2003 9:54 pm

I suspect there are a LOT of FTers returning VCE-AMS-JFK on Labor Day. Given that the layover in AMS is incredibly long, does anyone have plans for this lag time? Lounge-hopping for 6+ hrs seems a bit extreme.. fancy a trip into town, maybe? Drinks in front of Anne Frank's house? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Back from Venice. What a fabulous city! Happened to meet up with fellow Flyertalker mitchell in AMS en route. Ended up seeing some of the sights together which was great. It's very hot there and was fortunate to have A/C in the room. I stayed here. Used the vaporetto to get around the city and islands, although I took the Alilaguna from the airport. Some info here.

Can I be a late additon to your chart? I'm flying into CDG 8/29, then onto VCE 8/30 for one night (at Westin E & R), back to Paris on 8/31 with a return to EWR on 9/1. I'd love to get together with whoever's around for drinks/dinner etc.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
