I agree with Catman .
If you want to have dinner, Virgils is great, but you need reservations & it does get noisy.
If you just want drinks, and want something relatively quiet, may I recommend "Faces & Names" on 54th just east of 7th Ave. This is just a block up from Catman's favorite cigar bar.
If you just want cheap drinks, around the corner(on 7th) is "The Irish Pub".

What time were you thinking of meeting? I have something to do earlier, but could catch up with you at 8:30.

So tentatively, it's Virgil's at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 10. We'll have drinks at the bar till 7:15 PM and then dinner for those who can stay. Please confirm, either on the thread and/or via email to me, if you will be there and if you will stay for dinner. As soon as I have some responses I'll publish a list of attendees.

[Edited to add:] The bar at Virgil's isn't really conducive to conversation among a large group, so we could have drinks elsewhere in the neighborhood and then move to Virgil's for dinner. Stay tuned!
