In Israel it's definitely a good Passover: not only all that cholesterol and carbohydrates....
This Passover in Israel was a real quiet one - quite as it could be in 3 years. I had the chance to do a whirlwind tour of the Galilee, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in the last 5 days.
It's bittersweet: no crowds in tourist sites on one hand - but tourism is low on the other. You get wanded entering every public place (malls, bus and train stations, supermarkets), like you are boarding an airplane and purses are hand-searched more thoroughly than at ORD. Went yesterday to Jerusalem from the north through the Jordan Valley with my niece. The idea was to avoid the long weekend traffic on the coastal highway. It was a serene car ride. Medium traffic, lots of security armored cars.
Indeed happy holiday.
Will be back on familiar metal - UA on Tuesday.
