FT Cards
Hi all.
Was just wondering where we got up to with the FT Cards??? There was a strong interest but I have not heard of any action being taken. Could someone please provide a update?? Thanks |
I often order full colour business cards from Vista Print, which generally - including now via this link cost zippo per box except shipping. Well worth folks ordering if you need some cards.
Someone needs to talk them into offering a FlyerTalk base template. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ------------------ ~ Glen ~ Come and visit the most ** FRIENDLY FORUM ** on FlyerTalk. No flame wars, no personal abuse, no substance abuse. Not much of anything really! |

I didn't see anywhere that graphics were provided. Could you provide a link so I know where to find them?
Further, there had been a lot of discussion over whether these were pre-printed forms that you would add your information to or if they would be files you could print yourself. Many people have made assumptions about Randy's intent, but Randy has not clarified, so I don't think it's fair to state as fact what his intentions were. Many people do not have color printers, and as such would benefit from being able to get pre-printed forms. Several of us mentioned being more than happy to order these and pay for them, just as we do for other things from the FT store. Of course, a more ideal solution would be to work with VistaPrint to get purchasable cards that way. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Either way, I'm looking forward to some sort of solution I can use... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Might be a good idea to query Randy directly rather than posting your displeasure in a public forum ... just a thought http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

Randy indicated in the FT Card thread that he would work on it... we have to give him time.
David, may have been more appropriate to just post to the original thread. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/002771.html |
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by wharvey: David, may have been more appropriate to just post to the original thread. </font> Interesting concept. Let's just bring old threads forward when someone asks a question months later via a new thread so each Forum then has TWO (or ten) current threads on the same topic. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |

Thankyou all for your reply.
See I went hunting for the old thread but had little luck in finding it, after going through about 10 pages I found it just as easy to ask the question in a new thread. Well I am sorry if I have done wrong, just one of the reason's why I hate posting on FT. I asked a simple question, "Where were we up to with regards to the cards" and now its down to where we should post and how. It's a message board, a place to post messages, don't you think there is a growing obsession as to how and where people post? If I find it hard to post on FT, just imagine what our new members are thinking. |
Mr. Star, I didn't think it was an unreasonable question at all http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Me neither.

[As basically did essxjay - a Moderator for this Forum, in the post before.] MrStarAlliance by asking a simple question possibly obviated the need for others to wade thru three pages of months old material had he not been de-railed. Seems sad the responses he got led to this: <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by MRSTARALLIANCE: Well I am sorry if I have done wrong, just one of the reason's why I hate posting on FT. Since I started the first thread, I just wanted to provide an update. I e-mailed the MotherShip about three weeks ago & am just waiting for a response. Realize that this isn't "saving the world" kind of stuff & that Randy's plate is probably pretty full with the upcoming Freddies & general biz.
I'll post if I hear anything. Tape at eleven... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif eddittted fur speling [This message has been edited by kcvt750 (edited 02-22-2003).] |
OZ,
I do not believe I need you to tell me what I was doing on a thread... I was telling the poster where the more appropriate place to post was... I was NOT talking to the moderators... I believe they could find the thread as easily as I did (took about 30 seconds). Thanks for understanding my position Scott... I was definitely pointing to where the information was. William |

Hi all
I just needed to let people know how I felt. I mean not to hurt anyone by this thread or in any way cause a fight, I don't go running around telling other's where to post or how so I think I deserve a little respect in this area. I don't have the expert knoledge that some have on FT to find old posts. I did try and find the post to continue it onwards but did not find anything. I ask that you please remember this when people look at informing other as to there wrong doing's in the future. Im sorry to all those involved, and thanks to the person who started the post for the update, thats all that was required to answer the question. Again im sorry """BUT""" I belive my post was true and correct and stand by my decision to post it here 100%. [This message has been edited by MRSTARALLIANCE (edited 02-23-2003).] |

Let me know if I can ever help you out with future search options as there is a lot of handy information hidden away on FT http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Despite ozstamps usual twisting of the facts nobody told you where you can and can not post, it was merely a pointer to where you could either follow or continue the past (3 page) discussion. Despite ozstamps remarks it is very normal on FT to bump up old threads asking for updates so don't be scared to do so, often old threads come alive again after months and months and continue to be valuable sources of information. Like this one here where ozstamps himself bumped it up after 5 months adding valauble and interesting information to a great thread. Of course you can stand by your decision to keep posting here in this thread, no problem with that at all. Nobody should be scared to post on FT though one should always be open to advice and tips from fellow members or moderators (who are both the same, despite ozstamps singling out the moderators in this thread). As long as the adivce offered is friendly and accurate of course! [This message has been edited by ScottC (edited 02-23-2003).] |
The topic of the thread is FT Cards, not Ozstamps and ScottC Round 19,426,496. Please stop before this gets out of hand. Can't we just talk about FT Cards?

Didn't someone once make a PDF file with an example of a card we could use?

mjm did a really good job of getting the logo on the NYC Football Bet Payoff Mini-Do ticket.
Maybe we can borrow his technique? kmc ------------------ Illiterate? Write today for free help. |
This thread is going nowhere fast.
I do not want to see this move into a debate over how to use the "search" function or how often it is appropriate to post a topic or whether or not Randy is responsible for creating business cards for the Community if we demand them. As we already have one relevant thread going, I'm going to close this one. Here is the original thread on Community: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/002771.html As you can see, many FT members (me included) are certainly interested in having these cards. It seems like right now, the best way for us to have them will be to print them ourselves unless Randy feels this is something he might want to turn into a revenue center. He is aware we have an interest in these and I'm sure is swamped with getting ready for the Freddies, responding to many changes in many frequent traveler programs, etc and will get back us if/when he deems it appropriate and high priority. |
