Oh, and Gaucho100K, just to set the record straight, you claimed you were offended by something factual I posted about another website. I apologized to you in public, and in a private e-mail, as no offense to you was meant. You never had the courtesy to reply to that e-mail. I have never, NEVER said "no" to anyone who politely asked me to apologize because something I wrote offended them.

The reference to kid is really uncalled for.

And since Randy has stated above that Gaucho100K is unable to respond to this thread (i.e. timedout) what is the purpose of posting a followup directed to him here - shouldn't that be done by email, since he is unable to respond?

I don't understand. Why is saying that one flyertalker might know something about another flyertalker uncalled for. There's nothing illegal and pathetic going on that our community should know about, is there?

I did not realize that he may have been in that situation when I made my post. I therefore edited my request to have him remove the personal attack on me within it. I do however wish to "set the record straight" on the issue that he has raised more than once, again, for the benefit of our community.

I have e-mailed him with no response, just as I have e-mailed Randy about Dorian's crusade of continuing personal attacks against me.

It is baiting and using the same shadow games of a word here and there that Randy had told you and me that he does not want on FT.

I respectfully disagree.

I suggested we ask a flyertalker "kid" if he knew about Doc. Kid has posted since Doc was in timeout. It is a plain, sunshine filled suggestion. If you know otherwise, please tell all of us.

the "shadow games" Randy referred to are all of the veiled references to me in the beginning of this thread, actions I humbly request you go back and edit.

Actually, all of your last few posts and my replies have no place on Flyertalk. You should be e-mailing me these issues, not grandstanding. Please delete your last few posts and "take this outside." if you do so, I will as well.

Yes I respectfully disagree too.

My posts were in response to yours and would not have been here if you had not posted. Delete your posts and I'll delete my followups.

[NJDavid], "Personal attacks"? Where?

Interference

A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player who interferes with or impedes the progress of an opponent who is not in possession of the puck, or who deliberately knocks a stick out of an opponents hand, or who prevents a player who has dropped his stick or any other piece of equipment from regaining possession of it, or who knocks or shoots any abandoned or broken stick or illegal puck or other debris towards an opposing puck carrier in a manner that could cause him to be distracted.

I share the same frustration. Altough my dear friend Gaucho100K is not "able to answer this thread right now", he was not the only TOS offender in this thread.

ralfkrippner Mar 25, 2002 6:25 am

Hope Doc will be back soon. He posted much information that was helpful for me. Thanks for this! And come back!

stimpy Mar 25, 2002 7:47 am

Boy I'm sure glad I don't understand what this sniping is about. Ignorance is bliss!

geordie6 Mar 27, 2002 10:58 am

Stimpy - I agree. But I would like to see Doc updating the "News" Forum soon. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

pointsgirl Mar 27, 2002 11:58 am

Yes Doc, if you are reading this...Please come back!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FWAAA Mar 27, 2002 1:15 pm

I'm confused. Yesterday Randy locked down a "Where's doc" thread in OMNI and asked everyone there to return to travel related topics. Huh?? In OMNI?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

Did Randy think he was closing this thread instead? OMNI is about everything not related to miles or points or TRAVEL, etc. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

This thread, meanwhile, continues more of the childish behavior and TOS violations, among other non-childish and non-TOS vilolative postings. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I wish doc would return also but I can surely understand if he doesn't.

I’m considering taking Doc’s position, and believe that if I quit my job, upgrade my server, and hire a full time staff of eight that I might, just barely, be able to fill his shoes. FYI, y’all, I’m accepting resumes and I’ll post updates as to how the hiring process is going. Does anybody know how much Doc was paid for his service?

svpii Mar 27, 2002 6:03 pm

Well I know for a fact that Comicwoman and I are both unemployed, and I have a NYTimes registration and a fast ISP.. plus Comicwoman is pretty smart and has that link thing down pat.. waiting to hear from you boss!

Dorian Mar 27, 2002 11:04 pm

I still don't get why doc was given a timeout. I reread the supposed thread....but cannot figure it out.

Dorian

kazman Mar 28, 2002 2:35 pm

What thread led to the timeout ? I agree with Stimpy - I have no idea where this came/somes from ?

essxjay Mar 28, 2002 11:02 pm

Not everyone - and it's a large, but silent contingent - here appreciates Doc's incessant postings. If he'd just confine it a single forum that would be fine.

But personally, I don't consider him an asset here on FT. I realize others do. But there is no middle ground. He is _really_ not appreciated by us longtime FTers.

couscous Mar 28, 2002 11:16 pm

I also miss Doc and would love to know what happened, can anyone help ???

Kokonutz, slow down on caffeine !!!

Punki Mar 29, 2002 1:06 am

I am pretty long-time (old even) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif and i very much appreciate and miss doc. He is very, very smart, really cares about others and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

I will admit that I don't read all the news stuff he posts, but then I don't read 90% of the other Flyer Talk posts either unless somebody actually tells me to go read them, so it doesn't matter to me who posts what.

essexjay. Surely you should have learn a lesson from the recent debate in this heated thread where dozens of longtime FT'ers attacked your same contention above re Doc? Many FT'ers here longer than you have posted on both threads to the contrary. Please do NOT presume to speak for everyone on FT with your anti-doc rants. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Drop it!

What exactly is a "longtime FTer"? Where is the cutoff point? And why? And who appointed you spokesperson for the group?

Whatever it was that you had or thought you had is gone. Things change. FT changes. Get ovet it.

ScottC Mar 29, 2002 8:06 am

I don't own this great place, have not been appointed moderator or talkboard member, don't have any more rights than any other fellow member but:

please oh please let my humble post be the last one here, this has gone on far too long...

Randy Petersen Mar 29, 2002 8:13 am

OK, done with a few other things - still not caught up but it seems this topic has surely ben worn out. Spring 'Break' is over, time to go back to travel. I know, it's such a bummer to have to talk miles and points again, but let's remember folks, that's why you are here for an education.
