US Citizen today

Just want to announce that
Carfield has finally become a US Citizen formally today, after six years of waiting, examinations, and interviews.

The Naturlization Oath Ceremony taken place in LA Sport Arena was exciting and surprisingly, INS was very efficient during the whole ceremony and I was excited to get the certificate.

I hope you can share my excitements today!

Congrats Carfield !

I'm in the process of gathering the paperwork for American Citizenship to be processed in July or August when I'll be in the States for three weeks.
I'm still waiting on the lawyer to send me the "answers to the test" so I can start swatting.

Congratulations, Carfield! I remember going to my father's naturalization ceremonies, it can truly be an exciting and emotional day!

But the important question is: where are you flying to celebrate?

It's no exagguration to say that America has become a better place today. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I teach an English as a Second Language class and I tell my students that the reason America's economy, cities, and science shines so brightly is because people from all over the world come here and add to it everyday.

That's wonderful news,Carfield! Congratulations!

Although I'm a native Oregonian, I've helped dozens of employees, friends and family obtain their US citizenship. Simple tasks like going over the 100 questions thoroughly (I've typed up the questions in a very LARGE and simple font for my stepmother), driving to a different city to get fingerprinted, and explaining forms are appreciated.

That sense of euphoria...it's great!

If you'll forgive the slightly mixed metaphor, mazel tov!

So, when are you moving to New York? I think it's required for new citizens. Besides, since we know you appreciate fine dining, we ought to be right up your alley! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Here's a suggestion: When you get your passport, start using it as the "government issued ID" on all your domestic flights. If they ask why, just tell them "It's new, and I just like showing it off!" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
