I have to agree with Pete on this one.
Its no secret that there's not a lotta love between Goldlust and I. I'm sure he's the not the only one who doesnt understand my sense of humor, which is what started the little tiff in the first place. But to use the "english as a second language" reasoning just doesnt fly. His posts as well the emails that I have personally exchanged with him reflect that he has enough of a command of the English language to understand when he's being insulting himself. ( Unless of course he wants to come out and admit that when he invited me in email to shoot myself in the head, it was just a nuance error) ------------------ Have a great day!! ~~Missy~~ |
If I did edit this one more time, it would only be to add more of my personal feelings to this a******

A few comments/suggestions (and I write these to EVERYONE, not just Goldlust or his detractors):
1) Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them a moron or even stupid. 2) When someone says (or writes) something that makes you angry, the best thing you can do is take advantage of that opportunity for self-examination. WHY did the comment make you angry? What does that reaction say about who you are and what you think. Are you reacting before reflecting? Why? Taking your emotional reaction, intellectualizing it and learning from it is a mark of true wisdom! 3) If after (2) you feel the need to respond, do so intelligently and focus on the arguments not the arguer. If you feel that the statements do not merit a response (or you just don't feel like expending the effort it would take to argue against something you think is prima facie wrong or disagreeable) simply state that you disagree and/or just walk away. 4) Accept the fact that no matter how eloquent and sophisticated your arguments are or how right you feel, people will continue to disagree with you. Getting frustrated about this leads to unproductive name calling which, by the way, makes YOU look worse then the person with whom you disagree!!!! 5) As much as it hurts to say it, even the people with whom we disagee on most things are right (even brilliant) sometimes. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I do not always take my own advice, but Lord knows I TRY to...Also, none of the above applies to Premex, who is free to respond to this post by calling me a moron! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

What's this, after doing our Goldlust bashing in OMNI we just continue over here?
How's about ending this (these) threads here and now. If many of you (as you so verbally point out) don't like GL's remarks why go on and on about them. Just voice your feelings in one post and leave it.... On the other hand, it does provide some pretty entertaining reading now there are no more post's a la Infinity Airlines http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |

I guess I never answered the question raised in the thread title (although not raised in the initial post). For the record, anything that I "say" on FT I would gladly say face to face in "real life".

PremEx, true, but surely you are under no obligation to reply?
I must admit that although I was originally trying to defend GL I now feel that this second thread was not needed and only continues what he wanted to stop doing in Omni... ------------------ A friend is like a parachute, if he isn't there the first time chances are you will never need him again - DILBERT |
