Dinner in NYC on August 6th
I will be on my way back to Germany from a friend's wedding in SEA and making a one night stop in the greater NYC area. [Arriving EWR at 17h10 on CO 128.]
Hoping to get a few people together for dinner of some sort somewhere. Surely I can't believe everyone is already busy that evening, nearly 4 months in advance? Interested parties should reply here or contact me by email. Information will be updated as it becomes available! Cheers, Sebastien [This message has been edited by SMessier (edited 07-14-2001).] |
that sounds great, count me in unless I am in Cozumel that weekend.

So far in advance that I'm not absolutely sure! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Bringing this forward again as ticket has been issued and plans are more or less final.
I will be stopping in NYC for one night only(!), on my way back from SEA, on August 6th Monday). Suggestions for dinner are welcome -- though I would like to try out Ruth's. Scheduled to be staying at the 4Points in EWR fwiw. Sebastien |
Sadly, I'll be away on vacation. Hmmm. Well, only a little sadly. I'll be away withOUT kids! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

There are so many more extraordinary restaurants in NYC than Ruth's! The Double-Smoked Chop at Beacon, ANYTHING at Veritas, the duck at D'Artagnan, and if you're anywhere near W. 4th & W. 11th Streets (note that it's the intersection of streets, not a street and an avenue), try the Dacquoise Cake from Tartine! See my site for details and links to further info.

LGA,
:::watering mouth::: Veritas is near/at the top of my list for my next visit. Of course, I'm dying to go back to Gramercy Tavern, if nothing for the coconut tapioca w/cilantro sauce by James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, Claudia Fleming. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif BTW, what's your Web site? |
Good list of restaurants - Ive tried several in NYC area - and then I realized the familiarity with some on the list was due to www.chowhound.com

Bringing this forward before going on the road until the start of the trip.
August 6th it is for interested parties. In spite of the nice suggestions though, I remain eager to try Ruth's for the first time... |

Sebastien,
Arriving UA422 DEN-EWR on August 6th, at 4:26pm Monday. Expect an email of the details. So who's joining us for dinner? Please post the restaurant if you've made a decision. If we're going to Ruth's, I'm ordering a petite filet mignon MR with a side of au gratin potatoes (with Tillamook Cheese, of course http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) I'll try Priceline now, got Le Parker Meridian in March for $80 a night! See you soon! Linda |
I'm very possible...which Ruth's are we going to? (Parsippany, Weehawken, or NYC Downtown (51st street next to Cite)
