Possible FT Gathering at GEG

The talk started with where to eat near GEG (Longhorn BQ!) and ended up discussing a possible FT Gathering here in the Inland Empire. So, anyone interested? If so, what date(s)?

It all started with a restaurant discussion here:

MileageAddict suggested we party on AS or QX from SEA to GEG and I second this fun idea. My business travel is rarely planned more than 2 weeks ahead, so I'm usually open until then. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif What are we talking about-- dinner maybe?

Whooda thunkit? A Flyer Talk Party in Spokane. Sure, I'd love to go. Let's wait until they pop up with a $59.00 fare and set a date.

Is anybody interest in dinner at Patsy Clarks? It's a little pricey, but well worth the money.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks Punki--that URL didn't work too well -- but this one does.
This is getting closer to me anyway http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Are you guys serious???

Punki Jan 2, 2001 3:59 pm

I'm serious.

violist Jan 2, 2001 4:02 pm

Just found all the electrons that my original innocent query engendered: it looks as though you guys are serious, after all. I'd prefer a Seattle do, myself, but I understand that's a big yawner for the longtime FTers, as you've done several. Would anyone be up for supper on 1/22 in Seattle? I think I might be free for a Longhorn luncheon on 1/23, Tall Paul; if you're interested give me an e-mail.

Off-topic. Is there anything interesting in Wenatchee? I nominate that city for "official FT mascot city" - just because of its airport code. My friend B and I were going to do a whimsy run between there and Fresno back in the old days when United Express flew there. Never did it though.

I'm in. Let me know what date is decided upon and I'll start watching the AS specials for the cheapie fare. $59 is kinda low but finding it at $68 is not unusual. Also, the AS specials can be purchased without any sort of stayover if you want to head back to SEA after dinner!

If I'm reading the schedule right, it looks like the last AS/QX flight back to SEA is at 9:30 p.m., and on Saturday it is at 6:00 p.m.

Otherwise, rooms can be had at the Doubletree for $78 and Hampton Inn for $74. If we do this before the end of Feb, some of us may be able to use a stay to get those Hilton Gold Challenge bonus points.

I'm in if the dates work out. Both Patsy Clarks and Longhorn are good in their own way. Have enjoyed great food many times at both.

violist - "Tall Paul; if you're interested give me an e-mail" I'm interested but I will be in SLC that week-sorry.

Sounds exciting for a Dinner!

If I can find a cheap flight, I'd love to come along . . . spent 13 hours in the Seattle airport 2 weeks ago http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif but I've never been to GEG.

They are now showing the $58 or $59 SEA/GEG tickets on the AS Web Specials from the end of January through June.

These prices will change on Thursday I believe, but they come back often. I like the idea of all taking the same plane if we can come up with a date.

Actually checking out the menue at Patsy Clark's, it isn't as expensive as I thought.

Punki,

I guess we were both right. The $59 fare is $69.50 including taxes. A great rate for a mini FT in-the-sky party nonetheless!

Another thought is Sunday Brunch at Patsy's. We could fly in Saturday and spend a night or just fly in Sunday morning and back out that afternoon. Since AS' last flights back to SEA aren't very late, this might be a better option for those just wanting a day trip.
