Sorry to hear that people don't follow up on promises. However, since there is always the chance that the unnamed FTr actually sent you the promised good both times (although I doubt it, considering that they have stopped responding to your email), I would always give the benefit of the doubt when posting that someone DIDN't follow through with their promise. That said, I agree that you should post the member's name and a description of your side of the transaction and that you are merely providing your side of the story so that other FTrs can make their own judgements and opinions.

On Ebay, each seller accumulates responses (both positive and negative) from prior business transactions that prospective bidders can use when they are deciding whether or to do business with the seller. You are just providing more information for others to make their decisions.

Hope things turn out.

OK, I contacted this person again, and he/she responded. This person claims that he/she simply dropped the ball the second time around by not getting a replacement or responding to my email.

This person assures me it was just an oversight and that he/she was not trying to pull a fast one. So, I've agreed to give this person a chance to fix things. We will see what happens.

And by the way, if anyone feels sorry for me and wants to send me some coupon-type goodies, just let me know. I can live with pity! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

OneDog .. see my post on Randy's Board re "Junior Members". The tried and proven eBay chat board "rating" system would work VERY well here to stop the "MileageMoron" types. Be interested if you added your thoughts!

An oversight? Well, I guess you have to take the person's words for what they are, but I know that when I have exchanged coupons with people, I have sent the coupons right away; that would seem the easiest way to establish credibility with someone that you do not know.
I hope that this person did not just tell you the coupons were on the way just to appease you. Please keep us posted.

This person continues to post regularly on FlyerTalk (making decent contributions), so that hardly fits the desciption of someone who'd rip off an FTer. But this person's actions ultimately will determine his/her reputation.

I agree with dsimon here - people should be accountable for their actions. Just stick to the factual and don't start a new flaming war!

Hey motnot, somewhere in my boxes of "STUFF" I have the unused return portion of the AZ Shuttle Tucson to Phoenix. If I ever find it I'll send it so you can have a free trip to Tucson. Everyone else, keep sending motnot those sympathy tokens!
