Rudi/Catman-

That is three posts each under a topic for a party that neither of you plan to attend!

MRLIMO Jun 6, 1999 11:28 am

Arturo WHO? ? ? ? Not to worry, Catman and others. Shhhhh, mum's the word. I'll never tell and neither will Brea, our lovely Bartender.

Too much fun, too much fun! . . . It was such a pleasure, at long last, to finally meet such a fine diverse group of FlyerTalkers. My first face-to-face meeting. And to do it on the same day I shed my "Junior" status made it that much better! Even better than double-dipping or bonus miles. Thanks everyone that attended, I really enjoyed it.

What a great afternoon and evening! Good food, good drink, good company, good views! I can't wait to get to brunch today on the Titanic just to find out if AuH20 ended up sleeping in a park, a drunk tank, his car, a hotel, a lovely bartender's apartment, or...god forbid...he somehow made it home. I think that Mr. Limo may be the only one with answers (I'm sure AuH20 won't remember), as I think he was the last one to see him alive.

thank you ranles for paying attention and even counting my posters (this is now my #4 under this topic). I take it as a compliment!

* yes I am sooooo jealous that I was not there!
* may be, that my posting #1 here, allows you early planning and to be there on sep-9 (together with Old Gold and who else?)

Stimpy et al,

Sorry I couldn't get to Long Beach by noon. My company's national sales meeting in San Diego didn't end until 11am. It was suppose to be over by nine. Got to the 405 and 710 around 1:30pm.

Hope everyone had a good time.

P.S. And truthfully, I was suffering from a case of post-tequila syndrome

Craig= Sorry we missed you. Brunch on the queen was great. Aurturo kept coming back and giving us more champagne over and over. Great desert bar too. John did not pass out once but looked a little green. You should have seen Stimpy's date, what a charmer, really a beaute!!! Bob, thanks for the info on Dis....

Well, seems I worried needlessly about AuH20’s condition. He made it home safe and sound (though he did seem a bit quieter today). Turns out that Mr. Limo was the one who closed down the Aztec Bar after meeting a couple of Polish girls (frequent flyers themselves) and dancing the night away beneath a Mayan Pyramid. I believe he mentioned something about saving one of them from a traditional virgin sacrifice by doing something to dis-qualify her. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Absoulutly perfectly sunny Southern California day today. Met aboard H.M.S. Queen Mary with Ran&Les, Stimpy & daughter, AuH20, Mr.Limo, and joining us from Seattle…QuietLion & Honeybear! A fab bunch and a fab brunch with all of us scarfing down huge quantities of food and champagne, trading tall tales & tips, and having our picture taken with the surprise guest of the weekend…Arturo! We hope to be publishing our group photo (with Arturo) later this evening, so be sure to come back and check it out. I’m only glad that Cheri couldn’t make it or she may have checked into a stateroom with the guy! Onefreeman and Raeban were no-shows (was it because of the great weather that you decided to stay on Catalina?), and were sorry Craig6z and LaxFlyer couldn't make it.

Thanks again to Stimpy for putting this weekend together. It was a blast!

Yes, it was great fun. I remembered to bring my camera and just emailed a couple of pictures to Premex.

The pics are in! Thanks Stimpy! Point your browser to:

Park bench? Never. The LB benches do not give Starwood points. I had a great time. It is true I was a bit quiet today though. Oh well, nothing a few drinks couldn't cure. Thanks for all your company. Now Mr. Limo, when do I get Brea's phone number back? http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

MRLIMO Jun 7, 1999 1:40 pm

First of all, a most sincere thanks to Stimpy for putting us all together (and keeping us together and still on speaking terms with one another the following day). It's good to know that someone is watching out for our well-being. Needless to say a good time was had by all. At least, that's how I remember it, I think!!!??? I always try to keep in mind that you only have one chance to make a first impression. As this was my first meeting with any of the FlyerTalkers, I am just ever so thankful that this was not a job interview!

And auh2o, you are more than welcome to retrieve Brea's number at any time. I was simply keeping it in protective custody for you until you quit drooling over it while it was setting in front of you on the bar where she had placed it for you. Although I vaguely remember it flying out of my pocket during one of my more aero-dynamic moves while dancing upstairs on the carpet with the one of the Polish ladies. I captured the number again on a second approach as various diners were left amused and perplexed. By the way, auh2o, perhaps we can double sometime if Brea's Mother would be available as my date????? Like Mother, like Daughter--I hope! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Sunday brought out several new additions (Christian, QuietLion and Hunnybear) that we thoroughly enjoyed meeting. The sumptuous brunch on the Queen Mary lived up to and beyond all expectations and has already been critiqued, therefore.... once again, plaudit to Stimpy!

Well, did you leave any booze in Long Beach for me? My 1st golf outing in over a year and it had to be this last weekend. Oh well, I guess I will just have to make the next one. How did you all like Legend's and 2nd St? If anyone wants to get together soon in Long Beach or the surrounding SoCal area for a few cold ones and/or dinner, just send me an e-mail.

auh2o Jun 8, 1999 11:14 pm

Mr. Limo:

You are always welcome to be my wing man. Or I am always available to be yours! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the memorable eve.

John.

Thanks from me too Stimpy!
