Is there a round of the Boston Beanpot college ice hockey tournament on the Monday night before this Do! ?
I think there is (but I'm not looking it up). If so, you could angle for more entrants from people coming to Boston for that. ;)

Yes, there is. First round, Feb. 6; final round, Feb. 13.

Does this mean parking will suck again? :(

Sorry Kathy, I was about halfway down the street when I put the name and face together! See you in a couple of weeks.

Where do you plan on parking? I'm guessing you won't get impacted by Beanpot; we're meeting in the middle of the week while they plan on the weekends.

You're more likely to get impacted if there are any events being held at Government Center plaza (music, festival, event) or any big events down at TD Garden.

Will there be food? And is there a dress code?

No worries. It took me a few minutes to place your face outside of a Do context. Plus, it was early and a Monday. Hope to see you in a couple weeks.

Based on attending some of these in the past at the same venue, though I am not the organizer:

1. You can order from the Kinsale Pub's menu. Servers will circulate, take orders, and bring the food.

2. Whatever will keep you from being arrested. Less than that, and you're on your own. The rest of us will deny all responsibility for your actions.

Yes. Typically, people order food and we have one overall check. Keep track of what you ordered and add 25% for tax and tip. You pay cash for your order to the designated payer and that person takes care of the bill.

Kinsale is a pub and there is no dress code. Having said that, I would advise wearing clothes because it will be cold outside.

It is a very, very casual gathering. The winter ones are always a little tougher because indoor space is limited, but we do the best we can.

Hey fellow Boston FTers. I have a question for the group I would have asked at the Do, but it's a little time sensitive.

I have had the SPG Amex card for almost a year and my yearly fee is about to come up (Feb. 5). I am contemplating canceling the card because I don't want to pay the fee and I don't use it that much and use my citi AA card on most purchases.

My hesitation for canceling the card is that I didn't realize until now that you can transfer SPG points to a variety of programs. I would start using the card more if I do pay the yearly fee.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated :)

20,000 SPG points equals 25,000 AA miles, which gives you effective earnings of 1.25 miles per dollar at SPG, vs 1 per dollar on the Citi card.

I kept my card, though, because SPG points are so valuable. I value them at 2.5-3 cents each.
