The Boston spring Do, May 24!
 

I kept waiting for the weather to warm up, but didn't want the spring Do to become the summer Do, so we'll schedule it and hope for the best.

Do date: May 24, 6pm
Do location: Kinsale, right behind the newly renovated Government Center T stop

Usual rules apply, what you learn at the Do stays at the Do.

For those who have never been, we tend to get a lot of newcomers at these, so don't feel shy. There's a good mix of people and the beer flows freely.

For those who have been before, well, come again.

Next time. My CX flight to OZ Fest leaves Monday Night/Tuesday super duper early morning 1am. As much as I like the BOS Do, I have First class seat and I'm not giving it up :)

I get to BOS that morning, so i'll plan on coming :)

I'll be a maybe. I fly out of BOS on the 25th for a family trip - might convince the wife that we should head down the day before, do some touristy things in Boston, and then have me sneak off for beers at 6 :D

I'm good with that. The biggest advantages to Kinsale are the outdoor space that we use and the ease of access from the T.

Thanks for organizing this Mike! I'd love to go, but have to give a wimpy "maybe." Have an early 4-night trip to NYC on Wednesday so depends on how busy Tuesday becomes.

I had lunch at 34 Saturday (ended Friday night on the harbor and woke up hungover at the IC) raw bar looked impressive, but I opted for great fried oysters. Though seems a bit crowded, expensive and complicated (menu) for a DO.

Pretty sure I'm in Boston on May 24, I can finally make one! Count me as in.

So here's the scoop on weather: As usual, my weather karma did not hold for the Do and I managed to pick the one day out of the entire week that won't get above 70. In the past, we've always gone with the "suck it up" policy. So for now, assume that we will be assembling in the usual spot.

The usual spot: Enter the front of the restaurant. Turn to the right and walk. You will go out to the patio. We will be there.

I got a question about food, drink, etc.: For the ease of the restaurant, we consolidate everything onto one bill. Just keep track of what you ordered and add 25% at the end (18% tip, 7% taxes). Pay me in cash. It almost always works out correctly. My one "reward" as DoMaster is that I get the credit card spend (5% on restaurants at Discover this quarter), but if anyone else is dying for it, I'll pass along the bill.

I'm going to have to update from maybe to out - I can't get out of the office tomorrow at a reasonable time with a week vacation coming up. Booooo.
