I had looked at that as an option when there a couple weeks ago, but it seemed too far from the good stuff (read: Copenhagen beer bars!). ;)

In Spokane WA at the end of an MR that yielded 270 SCs (QF) for $488.
Got to see the end of the Cubs match to see them go into the World Series. I spent the previous two nights in Chicago and saw the excitement with lots of W (for win) flags everywhere, I also purchased a post season Cubs cap. |
Quito, Ecuador. I am amazed that so few Americans visit this country, other than to visit the Galapagos Islands.
|
At a Country Inn & Suites right by CLT. Flew to Nashville today on a Southwest fare sale out of CLT, didn't want to drive 145 miles back to my house. I almost never stay at Carlson properties but this hotel was $72 while my usual brands were all in the $130+ range.

In Dawson Creek, lamenting how brown/grey, ugly and pre-snowy it is here. North in pre-winter is not the place to be - once it's all snowy it's pretty for a little while at least!
|
Durham thankfully as it's my mom's 64th birthday and that means I'm here to celebrate with her
|
looking forward to being home in SEA ... currently en route to EWR to pick up the AS inaugural EWR-PDX flight, thence a quick hop north

Japan is fine all the time.
Tonight, I am sitting in at The Aldgate Pub in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Outside, it is drizzling a bit. But it is a warm rain. I played 90 minutes in rain showers like this. :p The craftbeer I'm having now is the Aldgate's own Aldgate Porter [6% abv - 16 oz - ¥950]. Tastes fine. Thin head, dark brown colo(u)r. I may have another of these before changing to other Japanese brewed beers. To me, Japan is always worth another visit. It does not get restricted only to the time of Japan Do!s. I enjoy the ability to change from one interest of mine to another very swiftly, and without bewilderment from people who may or may not know me. |
I am in Muscat Oman. Very nice city with friendly people. Will be here for another week.

Hampton Inn Jacksonville Airport at the culmination of a long day.
- Woke up at 5:30, drove to RDU - Flew RDU-MIA-JAX, worked on both flights - Drove 2.5 hours from JAX to Irwin County, Georgia, met client in immigration detention facility there - Drove 2.5 hours back Just glad there was a Longhorn Steakhouse in the same parking lot as my hotel so I could get a bite |
Home watching football on the couch with the roommate. Downing a big glass of water and a cold beer after eating a homecooked meal.
Don't want to be anywhere else, really. |
PDX airport going to Las Vegas
|
spending the last of nine nights away from home — one on a jet, two in Ithaca NY, one with friends in Ridgewood NJ, and the rest in the DC area (Vienna/Falls Church)

World Series!
|
Stockholm, staying at the Hilton. Tomorrow I'll fly as far as JFK and then onto RDU Tuesday first thing.
|
Great Idea. I am in Vancouver BC Canda at the moment. Great city. Not bored with nothing to do. I have the opposite problem, too much to do and only a short time here.
|
Slowly making my way towards Chicago. Currently airborne on PHL-STL and will ride Amtrak up to Chicago a little later today. Staying at the IC.
|
Bali. It's been raining for two days. Hopefully, I will be able to surf tomorrow
|
Glorious San Diego. Staying classy. Mostly.
|
at the bar at the Doubletree in El Segundo ... the guy a couple seats down is wearing a black t-shirt that says “Tuesday.” across the chest
|
CPH, staying in Scandic Palace. Starwood bought this place and refurbished it, re-branded as Westin, I think. Ran it or a couple of years and sold to Scandic, just like former CPH Sheraton. After re-branding former CPH Hilton, that used to be my Hilton favourite in northern Europe, there are few large-chain alternatives left.
Food and beer, however, ar as good as always, though. :) |
Los Angeles area. Staying at the Westin Pasadena. Got ASU/UCLA tickets tomorrow.

I'm at the Doubletree Shanghai. It seems that when I'm by myself I get upgraded...

After a crazy 4 days of randomly meeting FTers and other travel obsessed nuts on the same ANA fare, I am now in Tasmania!
|
After three straight nights in different cities (Friday: Hartford, Saturday: Charlotte, Sunday: Jacksonville, NC) I'll be home in Durham tonight.
|
El Segundo CA on my last trip of 2017 ... LAX-SEA on Fri afternoon will put me at 92 segments for the year
|
In NYC going to see Springsteen tonight.

Riding Amtrak's Crescent from Washington to Birmingham. I expect to fall asleep around Lynchburg and wake up around Atlanta.

Meanwhile I'm at IAD now with one flight to go before I'm home in my own bed in Durham, NC. Tomorrow: Raleigh and Wilmington. |
Cosmic overlord playing with me again.
I am sitting at the bar at the Breakside Brwy. on NE Dekum Ave. in Portland, OR.
A female seated to my left just uttered the sacred name Ray Daniels. I wonder if she noticed I am wearing the Chicago Beer Society T-shirt (early 2000s issue)? The craftbeer here is pretty good. I possess a Trimet 7-day pass. I will move on to another venue nearby. The fun part will be learning if I can get a plug-in which I may need when taking transit from my next stop back to my hotel in Hollywood. |
Aboard the DL A359, DTW-LAX. Looking forward to twenty four hours of In N Out and time away from work! |
| All times are GMT -6. The time now is 7:12 am. |
