LAX: Proud Bird DOs?
 

Thanks to Palal, I learned today the Proud Bird restaurant is closing 21 November of this year. [Their catering service will close 21 December.]

I wonder where the planes that are on display will go....I've never look closely at them, do they have any historical value?

Even though the article mentioned that no new use for the property was planned, I can see how LAX/airport authority may not believe that this is the highest and best use of the property (snip):

That's a big chunk of land. Of course, $18k per month is better than an empty lot with a derelict building.

Planning to come down from SFO for my first time to the Proud Bird. Oct 20 is the date and we are planning for brunch at 10:30ish. If anyone interested let me know.

You might want to start a new thread re: the Oct 20th brunch, as someone scrolling through the list of Dos might think there's one on Nov 21, not Oct 20th.
