I'm getting married...

Thanks to REF 74 I can now marry my partner of 21 years. When we called our local county newspaper to ask about their policy on same-sex engagement notices they said " no one has ever asked before...send your information in". We did but a reporter took it one step further and called for a short interview saying they would like to do a story. It became the top story in this week's edition (slow news week?)

I thought it was kind of cool and progressive of them.

Congrats on your impending nuptials, david! Who cares if it was a slow news week? I think we'd all like to see more coverage of happy events and what could be happier than happy couples tying the knot?
