I can do brunch or lunch on Sunday (I think). Saturdays are much harder.
|
Sounds like brunch or lunch on Sunday the 20th will work better, so let's plan that. Now is time to pick a venue. Suggestions anyone?
|
I'm a DC'er who has never managed to join up with y'all for a meal yet. Are there any venue suggestions yet for brunch on the 20th? It's coming up fast!
|
The most obvious choice for brunch in Clarendon is Whitlow's, who have a $20 buffet, as well as the option of ordering off the menu. The catch is that they don't take reservations for brunch and, I suspect it would be a madhouse.
Tallula has a more interesting menu and I believe they do take reservations. |
Let me get a count of likelies for brunch on Sunday while I investigate the possibilities further.
Sorry for the delay in scheduling, I've been very busy. |

I'm guessing Bayou Bakery isn't too well set up for a group? Although there is no Saints game on the 20th. http://www.bayoubakeryva.com/who.html

It is definitely much more a bakery than an actual restaurant. The one time I was there, the decibel level was comparable to the two children screaming behind me on a flight this past weekend. |

I've added myself to a count in the wikipost at the top of this thread. If others do the same, maybe that will make it easier to keep organized?

Wish I could make it but I'm hopefully running the 10-Miler this weekend.
Bayou is too small for a large group. Whitlows is definitely a good option, as is Liberty Tavern (which does take reservations). Enjoy! |
Liberty Tavern's menu looks promising. Whitlow's would be nice, but the ability to make a reservation is definitely preferred.
It appears Liberty serves brunch from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. mhnadel has expressed a preference for earlier, and that would probably work better for me, too. Would an 10:30 am or 11:00 am time slot would work for people? I'll try to look around for other possibilities, but why don't we pencil Liberty Tavern in for now for our get-together on the 20th. I'll plan to make a reservation Friday or Saturday, when we get a better count. And sorry you won't be able to join us, Duke777, but good luck in the race! |
Liberty Tavern at 10:30 or 11 would work very well for me and the menu does, indeed, look appealing.
|
Works for me.
|
Count me in for brunch on Sunday.
|
I'll drop by brunch to say hi, get acquainted. But I accepted another brunch offer before the activity picked up here, so will leave way early. Not sure how that fits into a count for a rez, but must leave at 11:30.
