Arturo was an amusing mystery poster back in the days when FT was a small bulletin board. Nothing really trivial but his identity has been unknown since then.

Oh, Arturo's identity is known. He even served us at the first Flyertalk Do back in the 90's. http://gallery.flyertalk.com/gallery/album04/queen1_tm

Just out of curiosity, I understand you will not be involved with the management of Flyertalk any longer, but will you stick around as a "regular poster" (maybe under a new handle, to avoid confusion so that people will not expect you to make community management decisions)?

Apologies if this has been asked before and I overlooked it.

Randy,

Thank you so much for organizing Flyertalk. You have inspired many, worldwide. I hope I will meet you one of these days. Take care and see you soon.

Randy,

Thanks. The collective wisdom on FT is amazing - be it mileage accrual, anything travel related, local knowledge of almost anywhere in the world, etc. My family and I have enjoyed more and better travel as a result. A big thank you to Randy (and to early posters such as QuietLion, Catman, Rudi, etc. and the many who have followed) for sharing their knowledge and humor.

From Saipan: Thank you for everything, Randy!

I like how you got married on the 7th anniversary of your first FlyerTalk post. Cool!

Thank you so much, Randy, for everything you've done, and all you've given of yourself.

I haven't flown as often in the past few years as I did from 1997 to 2006, nor posted much since then, but this community you've built will always have a place in my heart. You were prescient indeed about social networking and so many things related to miles and points.

I've even moved on from Saipan this year (my “gamble” with a CO Presidents Club spousal life membership has paid off with UA), and may pick up the travel pace again next year.

Prayerful best wishes!

Heard you on CNN this afternoon talking about Mileage Runs. Here's hoping you'll still do interviews, you sounded good.

Few people can go through life and say that they really made a difference in other's lives. You are one of the few.

Sondra and I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us, and our children and, now, our grandchildren. Without Flyertalk we would never been able to explore our world as completely as we have.

Being able to meet, and make friends with other Flyertalkers has been a great experience. I remember once we, on short notice, decided to go to a "DO" in Shanghai, only to find we knew three of the other 15 or so people who showed up already. And we made new friends.

Your 15 minutes of fame is more like 13 years!

Please note how Randy is identified by CNN; "Founder, FlyerTalk"

I'm glad you'll always have that title, Randy. May you continue to use it proudly among all the other acomplishments you've achieved.

Bravo Zulu ^
