Please take me off the list. Can't make it to PRG. Will be flying to some other destinations on that weekend.

anat0l Jan 1, 2011 6:55 am

I just happen to be in almost the same area at the time of this Do (have a conference in Aachen from 14-17 June), so I might be able to go to this.

I've been to PRG before. We did one of those free walking tours that are mostly designed to get you into the city and to find your bearings. Also went to Prague Castle, but only into the parts where we could get in for free.

Put me down as Interested, please.

bostonbali Jan 1, 2011 7:25 am

Servus - please put me down as a Maybe!

Thanks,
Bostonbali

Ah, well. It is too late. Based on the links that others gave me, and just before reading this post, I made my reservation at the Prague 8. (I used the HHonors VIP rate and got 6 nights for 157,500 points, which is a pretty good deal.)

I will be arriving in Prague on June 9, at 2 pm, and staying until late on June 15 (I fly out at 11:15 at night).

There is an option to have a hotel limousine pick me up at the airport for 900 CZK (roughly $48) and it has room for 3 people. If one or two others will be arriving at around that time and want to split this, it becomes a good bargain. Let me know by PM.

Meanwhile, servus, you can count me as a "definite".

Edited to add: The limousine is now full.

8 person AAA van from the Airport to the Hilton in Prague 8 - 375CZK to 490CZK depending on the traffic, with a 47% off coupon for your return trip.

The Hilton is stealing from you.

I am also interested. I would love to visit Prague again.

Pat89339 Jan 6, 2011 12:29 pm

You can confirm me.

I will be in DBV right before this and have added the PRG stopover to my return. Hilton Old Town.

szg Jan 21, 2011 3:18 am

I will attend the Saturday evening and Sunday activities. I am staying at the IC.

eightblack Jan 21, 2011 5:06 am

Count me in...a week before the Dubai DO!

Why not indeed. And besides, never been before.

A big sorry to all of you

I should be in Prague on the 20th, if you are interested in meeting up.

BTW, in America with limited internet, so PM me and I will respond when I am back in Prague.

I'll be in Vienna around this time, not sure yet whether I can work in a visit to Prague, but I'd still love to join you folks if my schedule permits.

I'll actually be in Vienna the following weekend as well for a week, but will be gone from Prague by then. Probably going to go to Germany inbtwn Prague & Vienna, so will miss Spiff & others.

Cheers.

servus, I am devastated that I am going to miss this Do by days - my family and I are in PRG on 1st to 4th June. Unfortunately we have moved onto Bern & Lyon by the time the Do starts. Wie schade.

However, many thanks for the invaluable information about Prague - it has been 7 years since we were there and we were starting to plan how to get from the airport to Hilton.

I'll miss seeing my Aussie FT friends too and those I have met at other Do's :(.

SkiAdcock Jan 26, 2011 6:36 pm

Working w/ United right now re: flights. Might end up coming in a day early (the 9th) to get my F award. Leaving 12th for Vienna on a 6:35pm flight. Still sorting out some things, but it's looking good I'll make it.

Cheers.

SkiAdcock Jan 28, 2011 10:08 am

Move me to confirmed!

Booked *Alliance award & arrive Friday, June 10th at 9:05am. Fly to Vienna at 6:35pm on Sunday, June 12th.

Looking forward to it! Cheers.

miffSC Feb 7, 2011 8:35 pm

Please add me to the confirmed list. Arrive Prague on June 10 around 10 in the morning from IST (*A Award). Not sure where I will be staying at the moment - but somewhere near/in Old Town and then out by the airport the night of the 14th. Leave for MUN/CLT on the 15th.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces - and reacquainting with some old.

AHN Feb 9, 2011 3:23 pm

Please move me to confirmed. We are really looking forward to it!

servus Feb 10, 2011 2:16 pm

just updated the first post

aviewtoathrill Feb 11, 2011 11:29 am

I am extremely envious of the people who will be going to one of my absolute favorite cities. If you have never been, you are in for a treat. If you are an Art Deco fan, I highly recommend that you visit the (Alfons) Mucha Museum off of Wenceslas Square in Old town. Don't forget about the Astronomical Clock in Old town as well.

Have a great time, everyone!

cathaana Feb 14, 2011 1:13 am

I can't make it. :( Too much other travel in June.

boxo Feb 14, 2011 10:19 pm

FYI, Radisson Blu Alcron is available on the Carlson Friends & Family rate for €73/nt + tax, breakfast included. No-penalty cancel by 6pm day of arrival.

For more info, see the F&F rate thread.

Berrenger Feb 28, 2011 1:37 pm

Count me in. I've been looking for an early summer trip and this fits nicely. I'll arrive the evening of Wed the 8th and leave Monday morning.

Starwood doesn't appear to have great offerings (deals) in Prague, so I'm open to other options that won't break the bank for a 5 night stay. The best choices I've found are the Marriott Executive Apartments (Longin Center) at $92/night or the Courtyard Flora at $53/night, but I suspect the Courtyard room must have significant drawbacks given its suspiciously low price.

Berrenger Feb 28, 2011 6:26 pm

I have to take back what I said... the Sheraton Prague Charles Square Hotel has a BeatTheTimer price of $136/night. Went ahead and booked it for the 10th-13th even though the reviews are hit and miss. Since I'm curious, I'll try the Courtyard Flora for a couple days prior to the DO.

I couldn't find that... it wasn't listed. Does that mean it is gone for the day?

szg Feb 28, 2011 11:20 pm

The Holiday Inn at PRG Airport is on the Pointbreak list.

Berrenger Mar 1, 2011 8:14 am

Looks like the Sheraton deal is gone.

boxo Mar 1, 2011 8:18 am

Keep an eye on the Marriotts' rates. They are notoriously LNFable. (Kayak.com alerts work well.)

wendyhamburger Mar 5, 2011 1:27 pm

Sorry to say, I cannot attend this one... have a wonderful time all! Hugs and best regards

bk3day Mar 6, 2011 9:14 pm

well, if wendyhamburger's not goin', neither am I! :p

seriously, i tried but just can't make this work, much as I was hoping too.

No doubt y'all wil have a blast and hopefully do it again soon!

adl73x Mar 7, 2011 12:04 pm

Please add me +1 to the interested (and highly likely) list. I expect to confirm within the next few weeks.

hope you can make it - and since i'm not organizing it & running around like a chicken w/ my head cut off like in london, maybe i can chat w/ you for more than 30 seconds :)

cheers.

anat0l Mar 8, 2011 4:37 am

It's looking more likely that I'll be able to make this.

However, I probably won't be able to make the lucky organiser's birthday lunch on the first day - I'll be arriving in PRG hopefully in the evening in time for dinner. Sorry!

Berrenger Mar 19, 2011 10:03 am

The Sheraton Prague Charles Square Hotel is back on BeatTheTimer. They have 4 rooms available at $162/night... about 2 1/2 days left.

Dovster Mar 19, 2011 12:51 pm

Question: It does not look like I will be able to get any Czech money before I arrive in PRG. Which is easier to get accepted there -- dollars or Euros?
