Did Egyptians really select a Goy for Pharaoh? I thought that was just Hollywood. :D

Is this why in the course of human history, religions eventually come to feel the need for "reform"? :D

Seriously though, and unrelated, I find it interesting that in my religion Hinduism too, religious fasting often centers around not eating grains that day with no restriction on fruits and vegetables.

[speculation]
Possibly the "agricultural revolution" left diets overly dependent on grains and these customs are ritualized reminders of the ancient attempts to restore balance away from grains. Perhaps, today's "low-carb" diets represent the latest attempt in the same direction.
[/speculation]

Chag Pesach sameach, everyone! Hope your Seders were as joyous (and delicious) as mine were. I usually don't keep Passover after the first two days, but Ms. zcat18 is converting and has talked me into a "me too" honest-to-goodness Passover. Might have to sneak some beer at the Cubs game on Saturday, though...

Matzah pizza! As a vegetarian I have it EVERY night of Passover!

I know I'm a little late, but Happy Passover to all FTs who celebrate.
