Wish I could join you, but I have a doc's appointment at
MGH first thing the morning of the 30th. Bon appétit.

Oh, yeah, gvd, have a good moving day.

Would a start time of say, 6:45 pm for drinks followed by dinner at 7:15 pm work?

Anyone with suggestions for dining spots near Chantilly?

I know Chantilly isn't on a Metro line, but I suspect we'd be able to provide rides to those interested.

Now, as luck would have it, I'm moving on the 29th (yes, I know I'm only moving 2 blocks, but it still qualifies as a move with all of the corresponding disruption), so I'm not sure of my own availability, though I'll try as hard as possible to make it.

Please indicate your interest by posting to the thread. Assuming we reach critical mass, I'll ask UNHBuzzard to confirm with Capt. Denny, and then -- assuming each of you chimes in with a restaurant recommendation -- confirm a venue.

put me down as very interested; my only conflict is whether I go to the Military Bowl in DC or not which is the aft of the 29th; I need to figure that out first. If I do not go,then I'll definitely come to this event. one caveat, and I'm a bit embarrased about it but who is Capt Flannagan?

TrojanHorse:

Here's a link from the Wall Street Journal that should answer your question: Capt. Denny Flanagan.

Anyone else planning to attend on Wednesday?

I'm slightly more likely than not to attend.

There's a chance that I might be a last minute addition, if that is possible

No problem, come 7 I'll grab a table. I plan to arrive around 6:15 or so, so everyone feel free to drop in a little earlier.

I had high hopes, but the move took a lot longer than expected. I need to do some unpacking so I can make it to the office in the morning in something other than what I wore today.

Hope you're all having a great time.

went to the football game instead... sorry I missed it

Great time last night, thanks to all who came out. Next time I suggest we have a normal meet time, and a UVA185 meet time which is roughly 1-2 hours earlier. :D

2011 Plans

Hi everyone,

I'm a local WashingtonDC FTer - been a member for a year and a day now, but looking to get more involved in the local Washington DC area. I couldn't see a 2011 Thread yet, so I figured I'd post in here before in case anyone else had plans to start one.

On a quick note, any other FTer's planning on taking advantage of DC's restaurant week? Might be a nice time to put a miniDO together ;)

broms, welcome.
Check message 394 -- there are two reservations for the weekend at the end of restaurant week. If you have an idea for earlier in the week, make a reservation and post. Some of us may sign on.
