Flying Buddy

Is there a system on flyertalk of seat buddies for flights?
It seems like a good way to meet new people, especially when flying alone!

Under Community -> Itineraries, you can place your flight into the calender.
http://www.flyertalk.com/flightconnect/

There is also a calender for the Admirals Club for those looking to sponser or seeking a sponser. The link escapes my memory at this moment.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, silverforumsurf. Also, FT luggage tags can be obtained and used to display your affiliation. I've met a handful of FTers over the years in airports and onboard via the spotted luggage tag.

[With mod hat on: as the OP is interested in ways of meeting FTers, I'll move the thread to our CommunityBuzz forum. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

Flying Buddy or Travel Buddy

there should be a sub-forum for the Mileage Run forum that would allow people to make plans with potential Flying Bluddies.

with so many people out of work or working reduced hours and so many good deals available, it would be neat to go to the Mileage Run forum, see a good fare mistake or a significant sale... solicit interest of who'd be keen on flying that route on what dates, and boom... book it to organize a trip with a Travel Buddy. Potentially more fun than flying alone, and the originating point of flying wouldn't even have to be the same airport. People can meet up at a connecting airport, or at the final destination. No strings attached.

This year I've done over 100k paid miles flown around Australia and Southeast Asia... most of it alone... and would loved to have a Travel/Flying Buddy for more of these trips. Bundy Bear and I did go on a trip to Bundaberg, Queensland together and that was simply awesome. Got to tour the rum distillery, check out the local scene and have a bunch of FT type discussions. Time flew by quickly.

I realize I went off on a tangent here...

Oops

LOL... how could I forget! civicmon and I almost went to Iceland together when the country went out of business late last year, but the trip never materialized. Still think it would have been cool!
