How to start a small gathering?
Hi there, newbie to CommunityBuzz! here...
If I wanted to try to get a small gathering (for beers) started here for some FT folks here in Charlotte (such as, arbitrarily, US Airways Club folks living here in town), would I just open a thread on here? Would appreciate any suggestions... |
Yup, that's about it. Pretty easy - not all Dos are big ones. A simple Charlotte folk want to get together? thread title would work - then toss out some dates in the thread. If you peruse the forum, you'll find some areas do it on a regular basis - the DC thread is an example.
Cheers. |
If you've spotted a couple people who show Charlotte as their home airport, you could also PM them and direct them to the Community thread you open. It's a great way to get some energy behind it.

It's a good time of year to get some interest in hub-flying, with everyone jockying to make status. I'd come to Charlotte in a flash, go to a do, see my brother in law and his family and head back, but... I am way past making 1k this year.
Suffice to say, have a mini do in February and let me know about it ! :D |

Stealthnc:
Welcome to Flyertalk. Other folks have already posted great advice. I'm in Clt & I know there are a few others. I'm all up for putting something together. |
You might also put a note in the US Airways forum, given the airline's dominance in CLT, with a link to your post here in Community. I'm sure a number of CLT folks frequent the US forum that may not check in here in Community all that often. (Though chances are, coach knows 'em. :))

Thanks all for the input! Yes, I'd love to know about signatures (tried to figure it out on my own but didn't see where I can set one up).

Thanks, I thought it was just me not being able to figure it out!

My advice -
Pick one or two dates and stick with them. If you throw it open to "who can come when" you will be overwhelmed with who can and can't make every date under the sun.
And i echo others - if you post it, they will come! |
